Vehicle Detail
I've enjoyed my time with the car, but it's time for me to move on to something different. I purchased this car over the winter with damage to the driver side door and rocker panel. There was no damage to anything else. I purchased a used complete black door and a used black rocker panel from a salvage yard and bolted them on. Nothing was moved or damaged and the entire repair took me literally 2 hours, the door opens and closes like new and required ZERO adjustments when installed on the original hinges. The door is from a standard Z3, so it doesn't have the high metallic special "Cosmos Black" paint that the //M cars have. I typically have to point it out to people that the door is a slightly different black but to be a perfect match it will need paint (I have a quote for $400 to have this done). The car has factory keyless entry so I didn't bother going through the hassle of swapping the lock cylinder from the old door. I have the original door from the car so the next owner can do it if they feel so inclined. I have before/during/after photos to back all this up that I will happily share. The car had ZERO structural damage and it has a clean and clear title in my name.Car details:This is //M version of the Z3 roadster, that has the same drivetrain and suspension as the M3. The engine is a S52 3.2 liter 240hp inline six. It's a factory wide body car with deep dish wheels, close ratio 5 speed manual transmission and limited slip differential. It has recently installed Bilstein sport struts and a upgraded aluminum water pump. The car has 174k miles and is in very good mechanical condition, but cosmetically is maybe a 6 out of 10. The top should probably be replaced and the plastic rear window has a crack. There is a dent on the top front of the driver door and multiple small scratches, there is a seam splitting on the driver seat bottom as well. It's mostly stock with a few upgrades including a performance exhaust and the extremely important Randy Forbes subframe reenforcement/dual ear diff mount kit ($3000 installed but absolutely necessary on these cars). I just replaced all 4 tires with very sticky Sumitomo HTR Ziii. The M Roadsters were a very special low production car that were very expensive when new, and they typically sell for 12-20k. But with the high miles and cosmetic flaws I've adjusted the price accordingly. The car is exactly as described, and it's absolutely perfect for someone who want an //M "driver" on a budget. It's every bit as good to drive as the $12-15k ones that are for sale for half the money. I am not looking for trades, and I'm not financing the car for anyone. If you have questions about //M Roadsters or aren't sure what makes it special you can read up on them at wikipedia or MroadsterbuyersguideThanks- Don 810 845 1067On Sep-09-14 at 09:31:25 PDT, seller added the following information: The Auction is NO RESERVE, so bid to win. The car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if a local buyer comes through.
