Vehicle Detail

1970 HONDA CB750 K0 in CANDY GOLD NO RESERVE! In 1969 Honda changed the motorcycling world with the introduction of the first mass-production superbike widely available to general public. The CB750 was developed under the guidance of Yoshiro Harada who had been overseeing the Honda Racing Division. He took what had been learned from the racing program and applied that knowledge to building a general purpose, reliable street bike. It had an overhead cam 750cc transverse Inline 4 cylinder engine with 4 carburetors and 4 exhausts. Horsepower was rated at 67BHP @8000RPM. The bike had a 5-speed constant-mesh transmission and a front disc brake. There was a 5 gallon fuel tank and electric start. All the systems were well integrated for fantastic performance and comfort. It had stability and maneuverability. It was smooth and had limited vibration. There were good ancillary devices like lights, gauges and turn signals. Computerized technology led to good service life. It was beautiful and versatile. It made a great touring machine as well as a tremendous sport bike. When Dick Mann won the Daytona 200 on a race prepped CB750 it’s place in motorcycle popularity was ensured. In 1969 Honda did not know how to forecast production demand so a Permanent Mold Casting System (which became known as Sandcasting) was employed until they could get a feel for how many units would be built. When demand exceeded all expectations permanent dies were created for the 1970 models. Both the 1969 and the 1970 carry the designator K0 indicating 1st year of production. This bike was manufactured in Japan 5/70 Up for bid is this strong running 1970 CB750 with 34K miles. The fuel tank is painted in the correct Candy Gold finish and is clean on the inside. There is a barely noticeable blemish on the right side of the tank where a small spot of paint pulled up when the stripes were being applied. The oil was just changed and a new battery installed. The VIN# is CB750-1037919 and the motor# is CB750E-1039101 (which is correct for the year). The HM-300 mufflers have a few dents and some surface rust but no holes. Two of them have the baffles missing. The following modifications from original have been made to this introductory year model CB750: *The push-pull carbs are not correct but the original carbs are included (there is no air box). *The oil tank is incorrect but the original flat style tank is included. *The seat is from a 1971 model. *The fork ears and the ignition switch are from another year CB750. *There are no rear turn signals. *The tach and the handlebars are incorrect.
