Vehicle Detail
1974 BMW 2002 Vehicle number: 4282271 Miles: 58440 on Odometer (Likely 158,440) Super Clean 2002 - California Car. Belonged to my friend Tanya's sister and has been in the same family for over 20 years. Minimal rust - slight in trunk area under back window where water has leaked - non structural and not visible. - back seat has water damage. Transmission has slight difficulty downshifting into second, and a little hard to get in reverse at first - but works fine - just needs to be driven. Car runs sweet, interior is original but worn. Look closely at pictures. Recaro aftermarket steering wheel. Recently exhaust system replaced, new brakes, rotors, calipers fuel pump, tie rods, plugs fuel filter, new tires, receipts back to 1998 on history - over $6K in mechanical work in last 5 years - driven lightly in the last couple of years. Car was in minor accident - repainted and some minor body work in 2001. No radio, heater - defroster motor not working. All gauges and gauge lights work, interior courtesy light is not working - likely a bulb or fuse. Looks cherry, really fun to drive - Tanya really hates to sell this car as it family car that has been well loved and maintained in excess of its value. All original - well cared for, California car, needs a loving home. Currently registered and insured, smog exempt but passed last time it needed to. Comes with a 1/2 case of oil, car cover, and Chilton's manual and service records. Zero feedback bidders please contact me prior to bidding or bids will be cancelled. On Aug-31-14 at 17:17:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: There have been questions about the underside - I have pictures now of the underside and glad to send to anyone interested - send me an email at dan.eakins@gmail.com and ask in your subject line for them. - Things to know about the underside:- Exhaust is new - all the way from front to back.- Emergency brake cables were replaced when brakes were done.- Looks like new tie rod ends, and lower ball joints were installed. Rust underside damage:- There are two small holes about dime size on the bottom of the spare tire holder. From standing water when water came through back window.- There is a small 1/8" rust area at the back of the front frame rail where it connects to pans - looks like it is easy to repair this.- The passenger side frame rail looks like it is a little crunched from jacking - looks ok - but not perfect. Condition of Pans, Rockers:- All look super solid - there is some surface rust but also undercoating is still visible.- Engine, tranny have lots of grease and it could use a steam cleaning. Wheels:- The wheels are not BBS but BMW wheels - 13" - nice tires - very nearly new.
