Selling my sons FJ55 that we worked on for two years as a Father/Son Project. We have given this vehicle great care and have brought it back from being unable to go down the road to now being a viable daily driver and an incredible off-road machine on the weekends. 1973 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55 -Chevy 350 Conversion -Turbo Transmission -Four Wheel Drive -- High/Low -- Tested and Works -PTO Winch -- Tested and Works -Complete front end service including Knuckle Rebuilds/Ball Joints/Hubs -- both sides (Japanese Bearings) -Rear Axle Rebuilt (new seals/both side) -Rear Disc Brake Conversion from Drum (Four wheel Disc Brakes, rebuilt booster and new MC) -Four new Old Man Emu Shocks (front/rear installed) -Engine Serviced -- Tuned up/New Carburetor/New Timing Chain/Belts/Oil Pan Gasket -Interior painted and cleaned up/Tuffy Center Console with integrated Stereo. -GM Front Seats with built-in Seat Belts Pros - It's a legendary Land Cruiser, not many of these left in this condition that run. It has had a rear disc brake conversion from original drums, all axles serviced, new seats with built-in seat belts, new Old Man EMU shocks, four wheel drive and PTO winch all work as expected and the front winch has a high cool factor, we tested and were amazed at how well it works. Interior was redone and is very clean. This vehicle starts right up, has great vacuum, runs steady and is nothing but pure fun to drive a classic like this, sitting up high on those 33's and big bucket seats. The Frame and rolling chassis is extremely clean with little to no rust. The exterior of the main body may need a few small items addressed, but, its realistically not far away from being fully prepped if someone wanted to repaint, also we had the front grill, headlight caps and side vents powder coated white and anywhere we painted we used the Rust Bullet Painting Solution, so what you see should last a very long time as well protect from further rust. Cons -It's a Land Cruiser, these have a history for rust and we did our best to address it, but, there will always be a battle for whomever owns a 70's era FJ55 with the original body no matter which one you buy. The back window that rolls down is a bit touchy, I did not replace or fix, but, the Cruiser comes with a full replacement tailgate if parts are needed or new owner wants to switch out. The sun-visors will need to be replaced. The brakes still might need some work as they have not been tested on a long road trip or in an extreme off-road situation, but, they work fine on local roads we drive on. After completely rebuilding the front knuckles and replacing ball joints etc. I would suggest somewhere down the road a professional alignment be considered, however, the vehicle tracks straight now so all is good. Also, I would personally choose an alternate exhaust design, what is on there now works and some may like it that way.
