Unmolested, high option original New Mexico desert car. 425 cu in (7.0 L) 385 hp (287 kW) Rocket V8 3-speed TH-425 automatic To power the car, Oldsmobile engineers selected a conventional, although performance-boosted, Olds 425 cu in (7 L) Super Rocket V8 rated at 385 hp (287 kW) and 475 ft·lb (644 N·m) of torque. It provided an increase of 10 hp (7.5 kW) over the Starfire 425, and an increase of 20 hp (15 kW) over the standard 425 engine in the Ninety-Eight. The Toronado's intake manifold was unique and was depressed down to allow for engine hood clearance. This is a GREAT Starting point for a project car. Very straight very rust free with only four small areas. Needs paint, Weatherstripping, and the interior needs restored, all original, major options on this car! Loaded! Motor is strong and runs well, tons of torque. Just drove it 55 miles. Starts right up and cruises great at 70 MPH Transmission, power steering, and brakes all work excellent. The top end has been rebuilt but I do not have receipts, original lifters, head gaskets, and carb were included with the car. The car sat in storage for the past 20 + years. Barn Find Speedometer works, fuel gauge works, amp meter works and temp gauge works. New points, plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Fresh oil change and filter. Transmission Serviced, new filter kit and fluid, also new governor gear. Transmission works excellent. Very rust free original New Mexico car. Four small rust spots. (see pictures) by rear window, passenger side rear qtr, drivers side door jam, front of wheel wheel drivers side New tires with less than 300 miles on them. All receipts included. Needs: 1. headlight doors do not open- I believe its a vacuum issue 2. Interior needs completely gone thru. - Door panels, seats recovered, head liner. 3. Window motors need work. Drivers side window works, the other three need repair. 4. Radio and antenna do not work. 5. Front passenger side fender dented (I backed into the car)
