1932 American Austin Seven Opal Roadster. A very unique and rare roadster. Originally manufactured and built in Butler PA. by the American Austin Company. American Austin under licensed agreementwith Austin in the UK. produced and built cars from 1928 through 1934, then failed as the depression took hold here in the states. These were American hand built American Steel bodied cars and at the time the Austin Seven was the most highly produced car in the world. It should be noted most met their fate here around the world scrapped for steel in support of WWII. Some History This particular American Austin found its way to safe and sunny Southern California. Amazingly nearly rust free front to back and just waiting to be restored. Found in a warehouse and put up for sale in 2010, a talented professional Hot Rod builder in Southern California with over 35years of Hot Rod building experience purchased this incredible and rare Austin Seven Roadster and put together a plan to bring it back to life. The Build Plan ‘Keeping ALL AMERICAN Steel’Custom build a stronger chassis, update suspension, brakes and electrical.Install modern engine and drive train, make it powerful but streetable withhighway cruising capability. Update and color coordinate the interior and design a custom remove able convertible top. Widen each fender to accommodate new wheels and tires.Power it up with a built 4.3 Chevy V6, add to that a 700R4 transmission along with a modified Buick rear end. Weighing in at under 2000lbs and producing 240+ HP she is a blast to drive anywhere in town or on the highway. For modern comforts add a tilt wheel, custom dash, modern gauge package along with custom upholstered Lincoln Navigator seating and a custom one of Fabric top and you have a complete Hot Rod that is a one and only unique ride.Finally finish the build off with a period correct paint color combo that ties it back to its roots in 1932.
