Vehicle Detail
1959 Triumph TR3A that is generally complete with a removable hardtop that is missing the rear window. The car is also missing the engine push rod tappets,TR3 badging, front turn signals, dash switch, & convertible top but is, otherwise; generally complete for restoration. Believe engine is a matching number that was previously disassembled & boiled out but needs final inspection & rebuild. Frame is good to excellent condition. Door fit is quite good as is bonnet and trunk lid. Spare tire tray appears rust free and trunk floor is good with some pitting. The front floor pans were removed by the previous owner but the rear floors are quite good & remain intact. The passenger side outer rocker is new. The front left & right inner sills have some rust. There is a small area of rust in the left front rear fender (dog leg) behind the door shut face. The pictures probably tell the story the best. The interior is the original red vinyl and I believe the car was originally black as you see now. The gearbox is complete but has not been tested. The horn button assembly is untested but appears to be in excellent original condition. This is an excellent candidate for restoration and has a very good foundation with a desirable original color combination. Feel free to call me at 319-721-4356 to arrange an inspection or discuss any particular items. All bids are considered to be binding at the time they are made and deposits are non-refundable. If you are overseas or have low feedback then I reserve the right to cancel your bid. Please contact me in advance of your bid if you fit either of those descriptions so I can be sure of your purchase intentions. I would like to offer the best opportunity for all bidders to purchase the car and have attempted to show the condition with as many photographic angles as possible. The car is located in dry storage in eastern IA. I purchased the car from a collector in Iowa who had it in dry storage for the last 20 years or so. I listed the odometer in the required field for this ad but I don't know if the mileage is accurate. I am willing to store the car for 3 weeks but the deposit is required within 24 hours by PayPal and the balance is due within 5 days. All payments must clear prior to shipment. I reserve the right to end the auction early but my intention is to sell the car to the highest bidder at the close of the auction. I am an avid collector but need to make space for a boat this winter. Thanks for your interest and good luck to all those who bid!
