Selling my 2002 Mercury Mountaineer AWD with a 4.6 v8 engine (the good model). Timing chain is loose and will need to be fixed/replaced to make the truck drivable again. Great opportunity for someone that is mechanically inclined or knows a good mechanic since the repair cost is mostly just labor. Engine ran smooth before the chain issue, transmission would sometimes shift hard into second but was smooth other than that. This is the 4.6 v8 engine which is far superior to infamous Ford 4.0 v6 that came in most of the 2002 Ford Explorers and Mercury Mountaineers. Cosmetically this truck is in good shape minus your regular wear for it's age. There is small crack in the front left fender, small rust line over the rear lift wheel, and a small dent in the rear left bumper which are all clearly pictured below. Interior is pretty nice, leather is in good shape the than a 4 inch tear on the bottom of the drivers seat neat the power adjustment controls. The DVD entertainment system stopped powering on after a red wire from the fuse panel got disconnected, should be an easy fix but the DVD system does work.
