Vehicle Detail

UNFORTUNATELY do to health reasons we must sell our 1929 Touring car. It is truly one of my favorite cars and I love driving her but dad owns her and is forced to sell her. He's not Ebay savvy so I'm given the duty of selling her. If I could afford her then I would by her myself, but I can't. So here comes "Ms. Blue" for you. Ms Blue is a 1929 Ford Model A Phaeton Touring car. She is mostly all original other than some minor detail items. She has the original engine and drive train which the engine has never been torn apart. She still runs excellent and has driven many tours with our local Model A club. She previously had the seats and top replaced by the original owner or his family so she has a nice Black vinyl interior and a "Long Grain" top. Since we have owned her we have replaced the interior padding and trim of the top but it is still the same top material which is in good shape. The original owner did repaint her but we are not 100 percent positive on the color. In the Model A color book, the color is either Andalusite Blue or Washington Blue which are dark blues. She has good Firestone Black wall tires all the way around including the spare. Recently we have replaced or rebuilt several parts of her. We have rebuilt the water pump, replaced the coil and points/rotor, replaced the king pins and bushings, and rebuilt the steering gear box with new 7 section steering gears. She now steers very well and is nice and tight. No more shimmies, yeah! All of the lights work great and we recently added turn signals for safety, She has no rust to speak of, maybe a little surface rust here and there but nothing more. She is very clean underneath, especially for the age and mileage. The doors fit extremely well, no misalignment, shut very tight. Now on to her story. She was bought new and lived the majority of her life in northern Ohio up by the Lake. Her story is quite interesting but unfortunately when dad retired the documentation was accidentally left behind and therefore destroyed. So all we can do is explain the history. She stayed in the same family for most of her life being passed down through 4 generations until the last member decided they wanted a sporty car and listed her on Ebay. My father wanted her but was outbid and she went to Virginia/Maryland area. Well, that buyer found what they really had been looking for shortly after buying her and relisted her. So once again Dad bid and was beaten out again by someone in Florida. Well as it turns out, that person was a photographer and again within a short period, found what they were really looking for and relisted her again. We new it was her every time because the people used the same pictures in their listings as were in the very first listing. So once again, Dad bid on her and was determined that he was not losing this time and she came back to Ohio. This all happened within a six month period, so, very quickly!!! That was in 2009 and she has been with us ever since. We have always had her garaged or in a climate controlled storage in the winter. So she is well taken care of and she is the one that Dad can't get in and drive after all of his health issues so she must find a new and hopefully, loving family just as we are. We will still have three Model A's in the family but can not afford to keep Ms Blue. Dad will still have his Huckster which he can still get in but isn't quite ready to drive it yet. I still have my very first car which is a 28' Tudor sedan in pieces and my oldest brother has the 28' Sport Coupe. These are all considered ours but Dads name is on the title. Funny how that works...... As for the paint on her, we call her a 20 footer and that means that she looks great until you look closely. Its not bad, just has a couple of runs in the paint and obviously a few chips over the years. The original owner is who repainted her and the story we were told, is that he did it with his "Electrolux" sweeper and the spray attachment for it. Not to many people remember that they had a spray attachment for their sweepers, but they did and I actually found one with all of its attachments a few years ago. So we can show this to the buyer. Again though we have lost the documentation on this fact so its only from what we were told originally. We had a friend go view this car the first time she was listed and he verified all of this information before she was even sold the first time. His words were that "she was the most original Model A he had ever seen and that we should by her!" So that's what we did in a round about way. Now it's time for her to start a new chapter in her life, although she will be missed dearly!!! If you have questions please contact Tim @ 6142868021 or Tilor @ 6147698372. Thank you and Good Luck bidding. Note: car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this listing at any time.
