Vehicle Detail
**NO RESERVE** If you are searching for a nice 5-speed 1LE Camaro, look no further. This one is about as nice as you'll find anywhere. I am the third owner of this car. It has spent it's entire life in Texas, garage kept, babied and driven on nice Sundays to car shows, etc. This car was originally ordered by Young Chevrolet in Dallas with the intent of using it as a dealer-sponsored race car. That plan never came to fruition and the car languished on the showroom floor for over a year, due mainly to the fact that it was not equipped with air conditioning and there's just not many people in Texas interested in owning a car without it. The car was finally sold to a private party in 1992. It was owned by the first owner for about 5 years and then sold to the second owner who owned it for about 16 years and only put 8,000 miles on it. I acquired the car last winter when the opportunity presented itself to me, I wasn't really shopping for it. The dealer installed an SLP cat-back stainless steel exhaust system on the car when it was brand new, before it was ever sold. The second owner installed an underdrive pulley set, a hurst shifter and a hypertech chip on the car. Other than that it is completely stock and un-molested. The interior and all the weatherstripping is like new. The wheels look brand new, with no curb rash on any of them. It has 4 brand new tires on it. The car was repainted once when it was nearly new by the dealer under a recall for peeling clear coat. The only thing I have done to this car is install a new set of fuel injectors. One of the original injectors failed shortly after I got the car so I replaced all 8. One last interesting tidbit about this car is that it was featured in a book titled "Camaro", by Anthony Young that was published in 2000. He was/is the owner of Young Chevrolet in Dallas. I have a signed copy of the book that goes with the car.On Aug-07-14 at 05:54:24 PDT, seller added the following information: There were only 283 LB9/5-speed 1LE's produced in 1991. That number also includes the B4C cars that were equipped with the 1LE equipment (not all of them were). Ultra Blue Metallic is a very rare color for 1LE cars. On Aug-10-14 at 18:46:04 PDT, seller added the following information: There's been some debate about the mileage on this car. As I stated below, there was a clerical error when the second owner transferred the title to this car into his name. Below are a few links to some pictures of the for sale ad the original owner of this car placed in a local auto trader in Dallas on Nov. 29th, 1997. The ad: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c373/mechanic116/1991%20Camaro%20Z28%201LE/originalforsalead_zps922142c6.jpg A picture of the page header showing the date: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c373/mechanic116/1991%20Camaro%20Z28%201LE/originalforsalead1_zps1ecd5ae2.jpg As you can see, the mileage is reported as 29k on this date in the ad. The error occurred in March of '98. I'd say it's pretty much impossible for this car to have accrued 34,000 miles in 4 months. The last oil filter that is on the engine right now has a date on it when it was changed last and the mileage is also recorded - was in 2004 and the mileage at that time was 36,XXX. I guess it's probably due for an oil change.
