Only 3000 on new chromed out engine. 95% original the pan and under side are great It's summer enjoy!! newer brakes, drive straight as it should has been meticulously maintained have all records since my ownership only 3 owners originally from California. If you’re in Downtown Saint Paul you have probably seen it. we drive down for dinner weather permitting. All glass original, top probably new, however maybe not. all hubs original and have another set. And more. Not a show car but has been at shows. Has a few scratches and nicks but nothing major. Well I do believe the top is original except the outer which is like new but have no idea when it was sewn on, it has all the right or proper trim and there is a little rust on the latch hooks and I looked at them . Also the current mileage is 79940, at least when we got home. Like I said before we drive it only in the summer and only when it’s nice and usually just downtown which is 9 miles round trip but wouldn't hesitate to go on a road trip with it. The gas gauge works when it wants to but it does work-temperamental. Honestly this one is a head turner, people give the thumbs up and when parked outside a restaurant ALWAYS people stop to look and take pictures. I do have the original oil air cleaner and jack and like I said a set of 4 more original hubs. You know I really don't want to sell it but circumstances happen. As I watch tonight through the window of the restaurant and people looking, I felt pangs. The muffler system was replaced to awhile back, was grey when they put it on but has discolored. Remember this is an imported from Germany 1969 but I think they all were. Anyway it's smaller than the newer old bugs like a 78 so if you are really big this and tall this may not be for you, I am 6'1 180 and I do fine but have to drive barefoot because I have duck feet= EE wide. I see by looking at all the other adds out there that no one mentions anything at all about oil drips. As you can see in one of the pics,a little oil. I was told buy my mechanic that it always has and is normal due to high compression this spring. We checked the oil and it was clean as a whistle and not down at all and I have been driving it since spring after which I had the Spring check-up. He told me to go buy 50 oil and I have not even cracked the top but you will see a small drip every once in a while an the floor. Just be aware, there shouldn't be any surprises. And again the new engine well now has about 3500 on it have the receipts. It really not an issue. Has an after-market carpet which is supposed to fit like a glove=bullcrap or I'm dumb and the spare tire is intact along with the original water tank that acts as the windshield pump when connected to the tire. All looks good inside as it should. The latch area does have some markings from the previous trying to slam it to close=nothing major but some gouges in the paint= un-noticeable when the lid is closed= I replaced it and shuts as it should providing you put the lever that is in the glove box to its original position and the tires.
