Up for auction is a clean, well-maintained, garage kept, 1985 CHEVY CORVETTE Special attention is given to a vehicle of this nature -- under ownership, the car was never driven for performance or racing-purposes, thus, majority of the manufacturers' components remain on this model (parts that require immediate attention were replaced). With that in mind, purchasing a vehicle of such caliber requires keen attention to both the AGE OF THE VEHICLE. Exterior The exterior of this Corvette is a standard GM White (RPO40). This particular model includes fiberglass pieces such as body panels and the removable transparent glass roof (similar to targa top functionality). This chassis hasn't undergone any major or minor accidents. The clear coat on the front bumper is fading. The flip style headlights are in working condition; rotating perfectly and functioning properly. The underbody of this particular vehicle is extremely clean; the vehicle has never been stored or rested in areas that would prohibit rust or mold-like condition. The doors are in working condition with no problems with the hinges, keys, or fitment; the doors open and close like the days it rolled of the showroom floor. The hatch is in great condition and does not have any rust or damage. Score 8.5/10 Interior The interior of the vehicle is a two-tone scheme majority red with minority black. This is not from the factory. The seats were reupholstered and are in mint condition. The carpet is in mint condition with no tears, rips, or stains. The dashboard and middle console are in great condition - no cracks, fades, damages or stains. The middle console arm rest and storage is in functional order. The seats are adjustable (recline and slide longitudinal) and in working condition. The steering wheel reveals minimal wear and tear, the color is slightly faded, but functionality and effectiveness is not compromised. The common locations that suffer the worse results of water damage such as the roof and the hatch are in mint condition. Score 9.5/10 Drivetrain and Powertrain From the factory, the C4 Corvette is equipped with a 5.7Liter Cast Iron block with Brake Horsepower rating of 230 @ 4000RPM and Torque rating of 330 lb-ft @ 3200RPM. This engine starts and runs extremely well with no signs of leaks or abnormal sounds like ticking or squealing. The vehicle was recently given a tune-up due to the prolonged rest it received over the winter and spring of 2013-2014. All fluids were changed according to service schedules; this includes engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid. The engine accessories are in working condition with no signs of malfunction or replacement; power steering is functional, alternator is functional, water pump is functional. The transmission shifts properly as long as the vehicle is at appropriate driving temperatures; no grind or locks or prolonged delays.
