My frustration and lack of patience is your gain!!! This Classic motorcycle is in outstanding condition. In fact, when I bought it some months back, I was so impressed with the condition, I didn't even have the owner start it - - but, he did say that it had just been checked out and worked on by a local vintage Triumph specialty shop and all systems were good to go. It started right up when I got home, but put out a big 'fog' of white smoke. It ran great and the smoke reduced quite a bit when riding the the bike after it was warmed up. When I started it again the next day, the 'fog' was as bad as the first day. After considerable research on the 'Net', I decided that it was 'wet sumping'. So, I proceeded to check out the oil pump. As long as I was removing the right side engine cover, I thought it would be best to upgrade the pump with a "Morgo" brand. For me, this process was very slow because every step of the way I was consulting the 'Net' and three manuals that I had - - just to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. In the process I discovered that it had a "Boyer Bransden" electronic ignition. Now back together, it is still smoking and seems to be running on one cylinder at times (besides the side cover, I removed other parts, such as tank, seat, coils, etc to facilitate some cleaning/detailing). I said "the heck with it" and decided to take it to a specialty shop in my area. Turns out one shop has closed (I think the guy was about 80 years old) and the other was booked way out and wasn't taking appointments. These are the only two shops in my area that I would trust with this beautiful bike, and I wasn't about to tackle the job myself (not knowing where to go from here). So, if you are a good vintage bike mechanic or know one, this is your chance to get an outstanding classic for a reasonable price!! FEATURES: -- New battery (sealed AGM) -- "Boyer Bransden" electronic ignition -- The chrome rims look like new from about 5 feet away, but, up close, they appear to have very fine 'speckles' (see photo, but it may not show up very well).-- Stainless steel spokes -- Seat in like-new condition -- Tank that is beautifully painted with virtually no scratches -- Matching frame and engine numbers -- Clear title in my name -- Tires are good -- rear "Metzler" ME99A, front "Avon" Roadrunner.-- Hard to find any rust on this bike-- Engine and trans oil changed I have an enclosed trailer and will deliver the bike to you or your shipper within a 40 mile radius of my home within 72 hours after auction ends.
