At 45 years old it is still in pretty amazing shape. Paint appears original, though the pin striping is fading as seen in pics.This bike has acquired some patina through the years i.e. assorted minor scratches/dents. Rear fender has small dent near hing point right side and some apparent touch up on the front part near the battery. Similar activity on the swing arm area as seen in pics. There are two small dents on the gas tank (left rear) and top right at the roundel, as seen in pics. Everything works as it should, starts one or two kicks and rides very nice! The motor transmission and final drive are mechanically quiet and motor does not smoke. Speedo and Tach work well. Indicator needles very steady. I have replaced all control cables (German) except Tach cable for rodent damage. Rinsed fuel tank (looks good inside). Cleaned petcock and carbs (new gaskets). There is no visible thread damage on/in carb bodies, and new fuel lines. New plugs and plug wires also replace discolored/leaking exhaust system (German). New tires, tubes, and battery. Replaced all lubricants and checked point/timing adjustment and valve adjustment. The bike is very nice looking/running R69S. I have ridden it about 160 miles and it does exactly what an R69S should do. This machine was brought to me the fall of 2012 to be recovered from storage for representation to I believe the second owner who bought it from the original purchaser in 1976.
