I just received a job offer out west and need to get rid of this beauty because I won't have room for it when I move!!!!! This is an amazing survivor! The most desired color combo of triple black in the 25th anniversary year makes this a very desirable and rare car. This is 1 of only 1,203 for 1990 in triple black. An original California car sold new and spending it's whole life in the southern California area, I bought the car last year as a well used but very good condition all original car. It needed some TLC and I gave it way more than expected. I went through the car front to back and top to bottom and cleaned everything and inspected every component. I found a completely rust free, undamaged car with all of it's original glass and sheet metal and in it's original factory condition. It still had the original California license plates and dealer tag in the trunk from 1990 when it was sold new! I started with the mechanical work and had everything done at the local Ford dealer so all work is documented and covered by Ford's parts and service warranties as applicable. It has new brakes and struts, a brand new set of BF Goodrich tires, a new fuel sender and filter and a new air filter. I had the coolant system flushed as well. The transmission was shifting poorly and had no overdrive (typical for the AOD) so I bought a factory Ford rebuilt unit and had it installed as well and it carries a transferable warranty from Ford to the new owner. At the same time I had the rear main seal and u-joints changed as a preventative measure so that should give you years of worry free driving. I had the A/C compressor changed and converted to 134A because it was making a little noise. The motor only has 59k original miles and runs like a new car. It has all original parts and has not been tampered with or modified in any way. The valve covers are just starting to leak at the back side and that is the only repair I have not yet made. I do have the improved blue rubber design gaskets and intake gasket set for this repair and will include it with the sale for the new owner. Otherwise, the inspection at the dealer showed no wear or leaks under the car whatsoever, it is dry and clean and the suspension is tight and straight and all components are in great shape. This led me to the interior where I found slow lowering windows, and one rear window stuck down, blown speakers, ripped and worn leather seats so I stripped the interior, shampooed the carpet, and installed brand new leather upholstery and foam from TMI on both front and rear seats. I installed all 6 speakers new and it sounds great now with the factory premium stereo and amp that work just fine. I pulled the door panels off and replaced all 4 window motors as a precaution so all 4 windows go up and down like new. While I was in the doors I lubed all the pivot points and linkages. I then replaced the weatherstrips on both doors and the trunk so the doors shut like new and the ride is now free of rattles and squeaks typical with an older convertible. The door panels had the typical broken speaker grilles and sagging map pockets so both of those were replaced on both doors as well. The interior looks, feels and even smells like a new car again. It is a pleasure to drive this car and it feels like they did when new back in the 1990's. The convertible top is in perfect condition with no rips or tears, it is still very soft and goes up and down smoothly. It is not faded and when cleaned looks like new. I lubed all of the pivot points on it as well to ensure smooth and quiet operation. I am including a 1991-1993 headliner with the car that I have not installed but should be a big improvement to the look and comfort of the interior once installed. Also included will be the top boot and bag in matching black. The trunk has all of the original panels and parts and is in great shape with factory spare and tire included. The front lights were hazy and two were cracked so I replaced ALL of the front lights with brand new Ford lights so they are safe and clear again. The paint overall is still shiny and in decent shape for a 25 year old factory paint job and looks great washed and waxed. There are some flaws however and I have not spent any time or money trying to deal with that yet. The hood is peeling and needs to be repainted as you can see in the pictures. The rest of the car has good paint with no peeling whatsoever but does have normal wear, tear, nicks and dings for a 25 year old car. The gap between the hood and fender is showing some paint wear as well and is pretty standard on these cars from "wind abrasion" as a body man called it. It can be touched up and used for years that way as a driver. If you want a show car however then I would suggest getting the car painted. The sheet metal is all original and has the VIN tags still on all the panels. The glass is all original including the windshield and is all clear and scratch and crack free. I have the owners guide in the glove box and also a Marti report and repair manual that will be included with the car. Please feel free to ask any questions. If you need the car shipped, I can have it dropped off within 25 miles to a shipper as needed but will not make the arrangements. Out of state buyers can fly in to either New Orleans(MSY) or Baton Rouge(BTR) and drive the car anywhere in the country without a single problem. As much faith I have in Mustangs and this car in particular I do need to note that the car is sold as-is with no warranty other than those offered by Ford on the replaced parts listed.
