ROTISSERIE RESTORED WITH BUILD PICTURES A PROFESSIONAL COMPLETE NUT AND BOLT RESTORATION LITTERALLY HUNDEREDS OF RECEIPTS OVER 130 VERY GOOD PICTURES SHOWING THE CAR AS PURCHASED, THE RESTORATION, and THE FINISHED PRODUCT. Click link for pictures http://s1118.photobucket.com/user/specialtycarz/slideshow/ MY INTENT WAS NOT TO BUILD A SIX FIGURE SHOW CAR. I BUILT IT TO DRIVE BUT IT TURNED OUT SUPER NICE. IT IS MUCH MORE THAN MERELY A “DRIVER”. JUDGE FOR YOURSELF AND CATAGORIZE IT AS YOU WISH. I MAY CONSIDER PARTIAL TRADE FOR STREETROD OR C5/C6 CORVETTE I searched a long time to find the right Camaro to build. This is/was a one family owned mostly original car with the exception of 2 repaints. It was a 327 power glide power steering car. Originally purchased new by a lady and then handed down to her grandson in 2008. The young man changed out the radio, (dash is uncut) had dual exhaust added as well as rally wheels and white lettered tires and had it painted. (see pics) I found the car as a trade-in at a new car dealership. Notice the original keys, owner’s manual, and bag. PARTICULARS The power comes from a fresh 60,000 mile 2002 Corvette LS6 engine including a slight cam improvement and head work. Tuned on a true wheel dyno it develops 340 ft lbs torque @4000 rpm and 320 horsepower @5100 rpm….THIS IS REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER. Flywheel specs would be about 400 horsepower and 425 torque. This makes a very well-mannered very driver friendly vehicle that will leave most challenges in your mirror with ease while still achieving great mpg. Additional improvements include all new belts and hoses, plugs, coils, and wires. New 2 1/2" exhaust with Flowmasters and relieved LS Camaro manifolds. Transmission is a fresh 2002 Camaro Z/28 4L65E with stock spec converter. Rear axle has all new bearings and seals as well as new posi carrier, a 4:11 gear and new wheel studs. New heavy duty gas shocks, Hotchkis rear springs (lowered 2 inches) with all new bolts, mounts, and bushings. New lightweight driveshaft New fuel tank with in tank Walbro pump, external filter/regulator, and all new 3/8” fuel lines. New 4 wheel power disc brakes with all new calipers, bolts, hoses, and lines, Corvette master cylinder and dual booster. All new Hotchkis front suspension, upper and lower control arms, wheel bearings, seals, ball joints, springs, (lowered 2 inches) wheel studs, heavy duty gas shocks, all bushings, tie rods, drag link, idler arm, pitman arm, and sway bar. Steering box completely rebuilt to accommodate late model pump. New Ididit brushed aluminum tilt steering column. All new Classic instruments (7 year warranty) Rebuilt stirrup shifter reworked to properly mate and shift with overdrive trans. New Vintage Air generation IV Sure Fit electronic heat and a/c. New retro am/fm stereo and speakers. All new interior including seats, headliner, carpet, dynamat, door panels, dash pad, pillar posts, package tray, and all trim. All new weather strips, felts, and seals. All glass is excellent and windshield is new. Most chrome and stainless is original and very nice. I did have to replace the front bumper and the rocker moldings. A complete professional disassembly for rotisserie body and paint was performed. Body and undercarriage were soda blasted to bare metal prior to any work. Floor and trunk floor were perfect but both 1/4's replaced do to minimal wheel opening rust (see pics). No patch panels. Right front fender was also replaced because of rust behind wheel opening. Hood is a 2" cowl. Only GM certified replacement parts were used. Ditzler base/clear paint with urethane primer and tint-able sealer were used. Original 67-68 Camaro color Marina Blue was applied, 8 coats color and 8 coats clear. Underbody was sealed and POR 15 applied for long life protection. Tires are 225/45ZR17 front and 275/40ZR17 rear with 17x7 and 17x9 American Racing wheels. Everything works perfectly as would be expected with this caliber car. There is nothing that doesn't perform as it should. Car starts, runs, drives, and stops perfectly. Even the original key buzzer works. Mileage is 380 total miles as of this date. Driven enough to be well sorted and dialed in. I do drive it occasionally to local meets and shows so miles may increase slightly. WHY IS IT FOR SALE????? I have been fortunate enough to have had a small very nice collection. I retired last year and decided to slowly liquidate. I have sold several and have only a few left. This Camaro was in the middle of restoration when I made the decision and I wanted to see it through to completion. It is now ready and I think you will agree one of the most complete and nicest LS swaps there is. My goal was to keep the original look of the classic Camaro and update all mechanical aspects to present day. Isn’t that what a true pro touring/resto mod is supposed to be? I describe my cars honestly and disclose all known shortcomings if any. My descriptions are just that, nothing more or less. Even so I can only describe anything the way it appears to me, that is why I have posted over 130 good clear pictures of all aspects including shots of the exterior, interior, under hood, trunk, floors, and undercarriage. My objective is to display the car as if I were buying it and show as much, if not more, than a personal inspection might disclose. You are welcome to personally inspect this vehicle or have a third party do so. Please contact me for an appointment previous to the end of sale. WHAT IS NOT PERFECT OR WHAT DOES IT NEED??? I can honestly say it needs nothing but neither is it absolutely perfect. The imperfections I find, a very light 2" scratch on the lower left quarter, the passenger door upper molding has 2 small dents. The rear bumper is original and does show a little age but it is not cheap Chinese steel. The front bumper has one very small scratch. All these items are shown very clearly in the pics. CLASSIC CARS RATING SYSTEM COPIED FROM WEB-CARS.COM The system is both simple and effective, ranging from 1 (the best) to 6 (the worst). 1) This is a perfect car in every way - no matter how close or where you look, it cannot be faulted. To qualify for a number one status, the paint would have to be excellent, with the usual flaws - orange peel, overspray, surface irregularities - completely absent. Off fittingdoor panels, signs of fluid leaks, any wear or tear in the interior, scuff marks etc. can cause a car to be denied a #1 rating. All parts, even the smallest nuts and bolts, if not new, will be refurbished. Essentially the only cars that qualify for this rating are those that have recently completed a no expense spared ground up or rotisserie restoration. 2) This is a car that is in excellent condition but does have minor flaws here and there. They should however, be the sort of deficiencies that only reveal themselves on close inspection. Minor defects, such as paint that has aged, slight chrome misalignment, and some road dirt here and there will put a car in this rating category. "Show Quality" or "Museum Quality" rated cars are typical of a #2 rating. Older restorations are usually rated #2. 3) Defects are of a higher order and easier to spot. Occasional body panel dents, typically no bigger than a fist or slight paint mismatches are the sign of a #3 car. The interior will show noticeable wear, especially where the driver sits. Some chrome pitting may exist. Cars with a #3 rating should be reliable in that the owner has a reasonable expectation that they can be driven a long distance without a breakdown. They are sometimes known as "Drivers", the implication being that the owner can feel free to drive the car as often as they like since road dirt or other wear and tear do not significantly devalue the car. I RATE THIS CAR A 1- TO 2+ ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS ARE WELCOME I will help with transportation if needed. I know a good shipping service I use personally.
