Vehicle Detail
For sale, my 1979 Honda CBX 1000. I bought this CBX in 2007 with 16800 miles and have pampered her ever since. It is my 3rd CBX. I rarely ride it (4300 miles in 8 years), I have 2 other motorcycles. This CBX is in almost show condition. I have a nice heated garage and that is where I park her. There are a few updates on this CBX. Front brake system from a Honda CB900 83 with dual pistons and spiegler brake line (original brake include), Dyna coils and ignition system, Randakk master carb kit + Nixon booklet. I rebuild the carb and changed all o rings between carbs (have them separated), all seal replaced and deeply cleaned, installed a dynojet kit and sync them. Lots of hours but the result is impressive. Valves checked and in spec. Pro-link clutch assembly from a low mileage 81. New chain and sprocket, fork seal, progressive rear shock absorber…. I also have square rear mirrors, and the following items are chromed: clutch cover, primary sprocket cover, ignition cover, valve cover, cylinder one and six carb top, exhaust collar, oil cover, Honda crank side and cam side. Original exhaust system is in perfect condition, with no corrosion or pitting. Gauges are in very good condition with needles still bright orange (this is very rare because they tend to discolor when exposed to UV and you cannot buy those gauges new. I bought one speedo on Ebay for more than $600). The turn signal plastic are not discolored, you can see that this motorcycle was always in a garage. The side covers are paint in gloss black with couple of clear coats, all tabs are original (not broken and glued in). Everything is in working condition, no strange noise, engine is strong and transmission is smooth, Idle at 900 rpm, absolutely no issue. I am meticulous and change my oil with mobil 1 every 1000 miles. No spare on maintenance. (My jeep has 242 000miles and still run strong) Now, there are a couple of flaws. As usual, the rear spoiler has a crack in the middle as well as the head light bucket. I made a little scratch on the side of the gas tank (not showing in the pic, almost invisible). All show in picture. Come with original complete front brake (master/rotors/calipers pad and brake line), original rear shock absorber, original Honda tool kit and service manual. I have an extra clutch cover too plus other parts. I am parting out my collection (82 KZ1300 and 85 Vmax). I am 52 and getting married. It is time for me to let it go. This CBX was in perfect condition when I bought it but not cheap. I spend countless hours and lots of money to keep her this way. CBX values are going up fast. It is one of the few Japanese to be collectible. Good luck bidding.
