Vehicle Detail
This is a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle that was a father son project. The restoration is not perfect but it is a nice vehicle. Could use some additional work to be a great car. We put a NEW engine in back in 1999 purchased from J-bugs. Has had approx 2000 miles on since replacement, which represents the miles listed above. Vehicle runs great with the exception of the starting issue listed below. New parts include, but not limited to- 4 new fenders, new starter, new alternator, new carburetor, new ignition coil, new carpet, new window seals, new engine, new wheels, new tires, new front windshield, new brakes, shocks Items needing repaired or continued restoration- needs new headliner, left door sags a bit when open, causing it to rub the running board, seat upholstery could use replaced. Has a squeak in the suspension. The biggest problem I have had is with starting. It has battery power every time, but after sitting for a while (week or so) it acts as if it doesn't have enough voltage to engage the starter. If you jump the vehicle it will start every single time. I have driven this Beetle on 45mile highway trips with no problem and would not hesitate to do so at any time. I have started it and drove it to keep it moving, but 99% of the time it just sits which is why we are selling. Vehicle is being sold as is Please let me know if you have additional questions. On Jul-13-14 at 10:25:34 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle that was a father son project. The vehicle has always been stored inside since 1999 and has only had the 2000 miles since, so they are in good condition including around the battery*** Items needing repaired or continued restoration- needs new headliner, left door sags a bit when open, causing it to rub the running board, seat upholstery could use replaced. I think I have listed the bigger things above, but want to be honest about anything I can think of. Feel free to email me questions.
