Vehicle Detail
Nice solid running and driving car for restoration. Car is from a large collection of cars, and part of an estate liquidation. Records that come with the car indicate that 1 person owned the car for most of its life, as far as we can tell, then it was sold to the deceased in 2001. He drove it until 2003 then it was parked in storage with his collection. Within the last year work has been done to the car consisting of: removal of fuel tank, replacement of tank support and front steering panel due to leaking batteries. Work appears to be done correctly. Both battery boxes look nice and have a little surface rust. Records also indicate that on 8-21-1987 the car was repaired with minor body damage to the right door and right rear quarter panel. Work consisted of paint work only for a total of $491.95 with tax. The damage was minor but you can see the difference between the new paint and old paint. Weber carbs, ( see photo ), were removed from the car and rebuilt to like new condition then reinstalled. Prior to starting the engine, oil and filters were changed, lower pan and oil plug gaskets replaced, engine was fogged with oil, and installed new air filter. Car was then started and it fired right up. Builds good oil pressure, ( see photo ), runs up and idles nicely. Mechanic stated that valves need to be adjusted. Car does drive, needs front end grease, gear box and clutch work properly. Has disconnected wires in several areas causing dash and other lighting not to function. Car has five factory wheels that have very minor scratches, no evidence of curb rash. Four wheels mounted on a nice set of Dunlop tires. Brakes work and appear to be in very nice condition, ( see photo ). They seem to stick a little, probably due to non use. Rear engine heater box on driver side has been replaced some time ago. Passenger side heater box is rusty and need minor repair. Bottom of car, floor pans and other sheet metal appear to be very solid, with very little surface rust, ( see photos ). Have located the following numbers that pertain to this car 1. Front trunk area # 9112110983 2. Windshield post # 9112110983 3. Paint # 936 9-3L Silver 4. Engine # 6122346 5. Gearbox # 7730190 6.
