Hello. I have for sale my 1971 sunflower yellow corvette convertible with a 350 4spd with headers. Shifts great, not much slop in the gearbox. Runs good, but does drip a little oil here and there. This is an old survivor. I bought this car from my dad, who owned it from about the mid eighties, he bought it from a guy in oregon, not sure if he was the original owner or not. I am pretty sure these are the original miles on the car, furthermore the shop that did the brakes concurs with that since the original rotors were still on the car in pretty good condition, just surface pitted from sitting so long. This car has sat in a shop for a long time, about 20 years or so. I bought it and wanted to get it running so I could drive it. I replaced the carburetor, had the starter rebuilt, completely replaced the brakes, rotors and twin piston calipers on all wheels, replaced exhaust from headers back, put brand new tires on which have maybe 100 miles on them. New battery. Chrome exhaust tips were in great shape still. Cleaned up the interior quite a bit. Repainted the backs of the seats and cleaned them up a lot. Seats are getting aged (the foam), drivers seat stitching has come apart where it meets the bottom. Carpet still in good condition. It runs and drives pretty good. Engine does not seem to burn any oil. Its a real fun car to drive. Shocks and suspension definitely need a little work. Shakes a bit over bumps and potholes. Both windows have a hard time cranking up and down, i havent looked into this yet. Dash is in excellent condition no cracks. Door panels have a couple small cracks. Wipers used to work, but the motor I believe fried, I think because the vacuum system has a leak somewhere since the headlights wont work anymore, you have to manually lift them up. Have both tops for the car. The soft top does not have a window sewn into it for some reason, probably fell out long ago I know they were just plastic. I had an upholstery shop look at it and for about 600 could get a new window sewn in. They said the top and bows were in really great shape. There is a small rusty looking stain on the vinyl top. The removable hardtop is in good shape with usual scratches and what not. Gas tank is very clean. Now here is something to remember. If you are looking for a perfect car look elsewhere. This will definitely need some tinkering and some work. All the lights work. Has some chips, scratches, small spiderchecking parts in the paint here and there. The car appears to have been repainted, however must have been over 30 years ago since my dad did not do it. Chrome on front bumper is excellent, rear bumpers show spiderchecks and pitting. The rubber seals are in pretty good shape except for the side windows which need to be replaced, they are aged. I dont know how to check to see if its the original motor or not, but I ran the numbers on the back of the block and it checks out for 1971 270hp 350. This is a very fun car but my kids are demanding more time from me, and that means with work I dont have any time to work on the car. Don't need the money I just hate to leave it sit. Car title is clear and in my name, currently licensed.
