Vehicle Detail
1975 Honda CB500t. The bike was put together with the thought of making it a city commuter style bike, something to zip around, cut down alleys and be able to haul your necessities to work or home. The only mileage on this bike since completed has been just around the neighborhood to get it tuned. Started with a original 18,773 mile bike, it was taken totally apart down to the bare frame and sent off to be powder coated. The frame color is a aged bronze to set it off from the BMW Imola Red paint. Along with the frame, the center stand, side stand, foot peg mounts, 6 motor mounts, battery cage, lower triple tree, rear brake lever and the 2 air box housings have all been powder coated to match. The original air boxes were retained for practicality, carb tuning and to have that utilitarian look. The air box side cover attaching tabs have been removed to clean up the look and the metal box covers were painted the BMW red to match. Both sides have new pod filters which allows room for the right side air box to house the new relocated ignition switch and mini start button, nicely tucked in behind the kick starter. The front and rear tires are new dual purpose Shinko 705 Series tires with new tubes. The front is a 110/80-19 And the rear is 120/80-18 to help give the bike a aggressive look. Starting at the front it has a 1965 Allstate headlight with a new 12 volt bulb and new alloy headlight mounts. Painted to match it houses a very cool vintage speedometer and a headlight switch from a 60s Honda Dream. To clean up the controls the original top clamp was replaced with a nice billet aluminum piece. New adjustable Tarrozi clip-ons, new grips, a simple and clean 60s Honda aluminum throttle, Honda MR clutch lever perch and a set of Joker Machine fork caps really clean up the bars/controls from the original. The fuel lines, clutch cable, throttle cable and front brake line along with fittings are also new. The battery is strong and the master cylinder was also replaced not long ago. The original wiring harness has been trimmed down and all unnecessary wires have been removed to simplify it. A redrawn wiring diagram will also be provided incase someone wanted to make any additions/alterations. The ignition switch and start button have been reloctaed to the right side air box and a main fuse link has been added. The engine was never opened or taken apart, only removed from the bike and put back in, so it does have the stated 18,775 miles. The paint is BMW Imola Red. The original tank before paint was in great shape, no dents or dings or rust. The tank is also perfect inside, no rust or issues. Both air box lids, headlight, headlight ring and the 1969 Honda SL350 rear fender have been painted to match. The SL rear fender gives it a custom look but keeps it factory looking without a hacked up rear, nice and clean. It also gives the the bike a more dual purpose look with a high up fender. The seat has been recovered professionally in tan leather. The original seat pan was modified and the foam reshaped to give it a saddle look and lower the seat height. It was also kept to allow access to the battery, again for practicality purposes. On the rear is a one-off aluminum rack. CNC machined out of a .25” sheet of aluminum with numerous slots and holes for tie-downs/straps and then bent to fit the rear. The original rear rail was kept for tie-down locations and to help keep the goods in place. Under the rear of the aluminum rack a new very bright Honda CRF450 LED tail light was installed for a nice clean look. The original exhaust was swapped out for a set of CL450 headers with a pair of reverse cone mufflers and wrapped in titanium colored wrap. The bike has been tuned by a professional. Timing set, cams adjusted, carbs rebuilt and adjusted. Along with a set of new coils, plugs, oil and a new D.I.D chain. Below is a parts list of new or not original to the bike that was purchsed to put it together: 1965 Allstate Headlight Billet Aluminum Top Tree Clamp Shinko 705 Series Tires & Tubes Alloy Headlight Ears Vintage Speedometer Honda Dream Headlight Switch Torrozi Adjustable Clip Ons Grips Honda MR Clutch Perch Joker Machine Fork Caps Ignition Switch Micro Start button 1969 Honda SL350 Rear Fender 60’s Honda Throttle Fuel Lid Pins CRF450 LED Taillight CL450 Exhaust Headers Reverse Cone Mufflers Exhaust Wrap D.I.D. Chain Air Filter Pods Headlight bulb Clutch cable Throttle cable Brake line and fittings Ignition Coils Fuel Lines Custom Leather Stitched Seat One-off CNC Aluminum Rack I will also include a custom hand made canvas saddle bag. It has been made specifically for this bike and rack with hooks (hook need modified?) and straps on the back for mounting, finished with bees wax for protection. May need to attach a saddle bag bar. I will also include a stainless engine bolt kit. Please as any questions or specific photo requests before bidding.
