For sale is my 1948 Chrysler Windsor Highlander Coupe. This is a basically original car. It runs and drives great. I had it painted a few years ago, and it shows the chips and scratches of having been driven regularly, which it has. It is equipped with Chrysler's Fluid Drive transmission, which is basically a 4 but sometimes 3 speed shifted by fluid couplers, whatever they are. When I had the under hood wiring replaced, the mechanic also rewired the fluid drive solenoids, and all I can say is that it works great and is a lot of fun to drive. The Windsor has a 251 cid flathead in-line 6 cylinder engine. I drive it on local highways but don't drive it over 55 to 60MPH. Fast enough in a 66 year old car anyway. The brakes have been gone through and work great. It is the only car I own that has a working horn. The headlights and brake lights work fine, but the right hand directional signal does not. I am replacing the radiator as it can be difficult to start in the Texas heat. I have saved the best for last. The Windsor came with Chrysler's "Highlander" trim package, which is a real hoot. I'll bet you have never seen anything like it. The back seat is original. I have had the front seat and door panels recovered. The "Leatherette" trim is in good but not great condition but I've left it alone as I prefer the original when possible. The chrome is in good original condition. Some of the glass and window rubber needs replacing. The tires are in very good condition. The radio works but needs a new antenna. I will be supplementing this description as things occur to me.
