Vehicle Detail
Amazing example of the much sought after Mercedes Benz W108 280SE 4.5V8. The W108 chassis is the last hand built production model, and when you drive the car you'll understand. The handling, braking, ride and performance is superb. This car has fresh paint, less than 2 years old..new Michelin tires, new brakes, a few steering components replaced. Carpet is new, OE German loop type just like when built new. New headliner, and the seating is without tears, rip or fading. New OE carpet on the rear deck (hat / parcel shelve). The AC system has all new hoses, and has been converted to R134. All dash instrumentation and lighting has been checked & repaired as needed by a VDO authorized service center. All instrumentation works and is accurate. The heater controls have been replaced, and work properly with proper back-lit lighting. The car has working cruise control - Yes, you read that correctly, working cruise control....I've not searched other comparable models as to cruise, but am fairly certain this is the only one. The car has the original Becker AM / FM radio, which was modified with the help of Becker USA Auto Sound, and has a modern AUX connection so you can enjoy your iPod, MP3 or SAT radio. New Pioneer rear deck mounted speakers. Both the front & rear windshields have new rubber gaskets, as do all doors. It has new rubber trunk gasket and new hood insulation...... There's still more to say, but I'll sum it by saying - the car is amazing! It's shows beautifully and was 1 of 40 Mercedes invited to the 2014 Cars & Coffee at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance -- the car is amazing, receives tons of comments! I hate to sell the car, but have found a European model SL, and have no parking / garage space. Time to thin out the fleet a little. Let me know if you have questions..........I'm a motivated seller, that has made the tough decision to sell this loved car. Don't delay, I could change my mind -
