Vehicle Detail
Hello Ebay. For sale is a 1979 Mercedes 240d. The title is clear, but the Pennsylvania inspection runs out at the end of august. It probably won't pass because the car has rust in pretty much any area where these cars are known to have rust. That being said, the car is my daily driver, so the mileage will be slightly higher by the time you come and pick up the car. Obviously it runs and drives okay, so if you're close by you could drive it home! If you live in a state like Pennsylvania with a strict inspection, you would probably have to repair the rust and replace the tank if you want to keep driving it. Honestly, it might be easier to just use this car for its parts, because it has a running engine, trans, and plenty of other good parts! The interior is pretty decent, except the driver's seat has broken springs. The interior pics show a radio in it because I still drive it, but I will be removing the radio right before it's picked up. It didn't have the factory fuel tank in it, so I was going to put in a veggie oil tank, but I don't have the time to do that anymore. It has a 19 gallon fuel tank in it, and it runs fine off of that. Also included in the sale is a parts car that I was going to restore, but I don't have the time now. The parts car is a white 1983 240d that has power windows and a MANUAL transmission! I have been told that that is a desirable combination! It doesn't have the title, because it was bought as a parts car, but it runs and drives! I wouldn't drive it far though, because it was never a daily driver since I've owned it, so I don't know how reliable it would be. It actually has less rust than the blue car so it might be restorable? Anyways, I would love to see someone from the Benz community benefit from this two-for-one special! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Thanks for looking!
