Vehicle Detail

Unrestored survivor !!! The following description is accurate, please do not over qualify. The car needs an entire repaint due to the lacquer paint cracking and peeling off all over the body. The right side bird cage (below the lower door hinge) is rusted and needs to be sectioned. The rest of the cage and windshield frame is solid. The rights side door "sags" when opening due to the cage issue. The radiator support has misc. rust around the bottom and lower sides. I have included many photos of the frame and suspension as it has various degrees of scale / surface rust typical for a 41 year old car. Front bumper cover was replaced with a good qualty reproduction. The white paint on the bumper does not match the 41 year old paint on the nose. Some body panels need alignment. The car has the numbers matching original high performance L82 engine, 4 Speed trans and factory air conditioning. The A/C is functional but needs additional R12 to be really cold. The compressor is quiet and cycles normally. The car drives / perform's extremely well. Reliable driver and the engine stays at 170 degrees all day. The clutch grabs strong, shifts well (up & down) and still has the factory shifter with reverse lockout present and functional. The car runs and drives extremely Strong, Tight, Quiet, smooth and comfortable. The engine still runs on the original points and condenser ignition. I drive the car several times a month always running non-ethanol fuel. The car remains in a clean locked garage when not in use. All gauges work except the clock. Occasionally, the rear brake calipers drip from the seals requiring a bleed to restore full pressure. The tires are less than 50% tread remaining with some dry cracking due age and should be replaced. One trim ring is damaged but all 4 are present. The interior is the original leather trim. The seats have the normal leather cracking for a 41 Plus year old car but is very presentable for a driver. Both door panels have minor cracking in the normal areas and the dash pad is straight, solid with no cracks or other damage. Please disregard the interior photo showing an after market radio. The car currently has a GM delco am-fm stereo radio which is fully functional and correct for this car. The radio speakers are original but poor quality sound due to age requiring replacement. Carpets are pretty used with some misc. wear spots. Rear compartments are all in good condition and the light still works in the center section compartment. Headlamps are fully functional as designed and the wipers / all lights work. I had the car safety inspected by the local garage and the only item recomended was to replaced the idler arm due to some minor play. Sadly, I must sell this car as I have moved and do not have adequate garage space for all the cars and toys. I have priced the car to sell and appreciate if the potential next buyer is a loyal corvette enthusiast. This car has been well maintained over the years and deserves the same future. The car is located in Venice, Florida and I encourage local buyers to inspect. please ask questions before bidding, not after the auction ends. Thanks for looking.
