Vehicle Detail
VW Fiberglass Manx style Dune buggy. Great looking buggy with nice red paint and tan interior. Dual port engine with dual carbs and new alternator conversion kit.15 x 10 rear wheels and 15 x 7 fronts with TA Radials that are like new. Runs and shifts great. Has lights, horn, blinkers, brake lights, radio(not working) and wiper setup but they are not installed. Titled as a 1969 Kit car in my name. The buggy was built by a guy in South Carolina and I bought it from his ex wife. I purchased it last December and has not been driven except a few times to take my daughter to school. I could use the money more than I need the dune buggy. Has nice red paint that I would say is an 8 out of 10.Has a place by the gas lid the size of a quarter in the fiberglass and a scratch on driver rear fender where my daughter got out of the back and scratched it with her jeans(SEE PICTURES). Interior is nicely done in tan and has seat belts. This is a street buggy only. The gas gauge also stopped working last time I drove it and have not had time to look at that and the frontend could use alignment. Your welcome to call me in the afternoons and weekends but please no later than 9pm cst. I will try to answer any questions but I am no VW expert by any means. Thanks Mark 615-604-3556On Jun-26-14 at 17:26:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had questions about the engine size. The first two letters on the block start with AE which according to VW websites is a 1600cc dual port made between 1971-72. Engine seems pretty stock but could possibly have a small cam but not for sure. Has dual one barrel Solex carbs. Also if it meets reserve price there is a $500 paypal deposit required within 24 hours. I was not able to add that in payment info.ThanksOn Jun-27-14 at 14:48:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok I had a question that I wanted to talk about. Someone asked me about the chassis number matching the title number. I didn't know there was a chassis number like I said I am not a VW expert so I tried to research it a little bit. I pulled some of the carpet up but could not find a number anywhere that I could see without ripping all the carpet up. Anyway this vehicle was titled as a Homemade vehicle (that's what it said on title) in South Carolina and not a VW. From what I have read they issue you a title number when you go thru the process of registering a homemade vehicle. When you register it as a VW it says reconstructed or something like that. Again I am not an expert on this. I had a South Carolina title and a bill of sale from the owner when I purchased it and made copies of it that I still have. I purchased it from an older lady who's ex-husband built it and had no reason to think anything was wrong.Tennessee laws are as long as it was registered in another state all I need is a title and you do a normal registration and that is what I did with no problems. Your state may be different so check what is involved before you bid. It is titled in my name now as a homemade vehicle. I don't want to scare anybody off, but I just want to address the question I was asked because I don't know what is involved in your state. If your the high bidder and this scares you then you can retract your bid with no problems, but it was easy for me to register it here. So check your laws in your state please so there is no question before you bid. It is fairly close to meeting the reserve.
