Vehicle Detail
1977 Ford F100 Custom Pickup VIN: F10GRX85773 I’m often asked where we find these nice old rigs. A good friend of mine cruises parking lots of retirement homes, Elks clubs, the V.F.W halls and the back alleys of a well-known elderly Scandinavian neighborhood here in Seattle. He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a car door a mile away… He even notices when a vehicle is driving down the road with a turn signal on just a little too long and he positively twitches with glee when he passing a car or truck with metal bumpers. If you’re in the market for a great driving, well-kept, vintage daily driver please give this half-ton truck your kind attention. You’re also welcome to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the eBay listing. My name is Mark Thompson and I can be reached at 206/914-1173. CONDITION: Several weeks ago a call came in from a Seattle-area film production company. They’d used this pickup in a recent video and wanted it off the books and out of their storage area. I quickly obliged, loaded it on one of our trailers and then proceeded to use it as my daily driver for the next week (if you follow our Ebay auctions you know I’ve got a real soft spot for ol’ trucks). Truely, it’s a nice old rig! I take great pride in the vehicles we sell and feel you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly, here's a list of the good and also small things possibly needing attention: The only real body flaw to point out is the right side dent in the bed. It has not broken the paint and I’d leave it as-is. The production assistant told us the former long-term owner they acquired it from was a die-hard University of Washington Husky booster and had the rig painted the school’s gold metallic color in tribute. It matched just what they needed for their filming and was used just as you see it here. I think it looks great! All the factory glass is fine though silicon sealer was used around the rear sider and it doesn’t open. The engine compartment is clean and the motor’s been detailed. I always have my mechanic look over our vehicles and he replaced both motor mounts and the transmission's rear crossmember mounting plate. Climb over, under and throughout the truck; I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? This classic cruiser HATES rust and you’ll be hard pressed to find anything here to worry about. Yes, the Puget Sound region gets its share of drizzle, but rarely any snow so our winter roads are not salted. A single snowflake fluttering down causes panic and everyone stays home from work. One turn of the key and the strong 302 cubic-inch V8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal when cold. The three-speed C-4 automatic transmission shifts smoothly, just like it should with NO slippage. Power steering and power brakes are here, too. Take another look at the interior shots. The factory vinyl seat is comfortable but has spots where time and the sun have caused splits in the material. As pictured, there are NO cracks in the dash cover. The original sun visors are fine. Both door panels are in very decent shape. I’m quite impressed with the condition of the dash gauges. They still look as clear and bright to me as the day this rig left the San Jose assembly line plant back in 1977 heading for the Salt Lake City District Sales area. A nice set of under dash gauges were installed to help keep track of performance. This F100 Custom is fun to drive and has years of service yet to render! I always encourage folks to stop by my Auburn Washington warehouse (by appointment) to inspect, drive and make an offer. Please BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a decent truck from a respected Ebay Seller. While we always sell vehicles “as-is, where-is”, my goal is be sure you’re happy with your purchase - and your dealings with me – with the hope that you’ll be back bidding on one of our future vehicle auctions. Because of the amount of money involved in buying a car or truck, I require Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions to call or email before placing a bid. If we don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. The phone number to talk directly to me, as outlined above, is 206/914-1173. Please feel free to call any time during the auction. My name is MARK THOMPSON. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s conclusion. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me. I can accept PAYPAL, but if you plan to pay any more than the deposit through them I’ll first need to invoice you and ask that you cover the 3.5% fee PayPal charges. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later as you’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends. If you decide to have pickup shipped home, there are scores of vehicle transport companies to choose from. I send off vehicles regularly and suggest that you get a transport bid from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They're EBay’s preferred transporter and will give you a fair quote. Call my designated rep, Janice, directly at (469)587-5096. Give her my affiliate number (2362642) and she can pull up all our information for station-to-station or even door-to-door quotes. As an alternative, you might also get bids from the U-Ship.com website. You’ll be able to choose a transport broker from multiple offers. The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn, Washington). The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. You’re welcome to keep the rig free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is $20 per day.
