Bike ran well and transmission is fine when I bought her 10 years ago with intent to restore and keep her long term as a collector early Japanese V-Twin cruiser. Very strong engine and torque as you'd expect from that V-twin. I also had a running '80s Honda Shadow VT750, but just passed her on to a buddy who plans to do a total rebuild... just wish I had the time to have done the same on my VT500. But reality is I won't get to that point, so here she is... for sale! Never did ride it around much though, but always kept in the garage. In fact, never converted the clear title from the Seller - still have the Seller's clear title and sales receipt, too. So you'll need to handle the transfer of title. Dials and tires very good condition. All electrics work, but signal lamps need to be replaced because their rubber mounts oxidized. All original, classic. Seat needs to be redone (covered right now by plastic) and includes the original 2nd seat backrest. Loosened front brake caliper from disc because it was binding some after its extended storage, but brake system was all working fine back then. Will need new battery and the usual carb cleaning, etc. before running - I would do so if I had time, but don't. So I have to consider her as non-running at this time. So I'm finally selling her as is and as was when I bought her. This is a great collectible example of the early Japanese V-Twin bikes. Fun bike for you to enjoy. I'm asking a very low price, but make me an offer... I just might agree, right? If you're interested, don't pass on this one for this price. Look around eBay, there just aren't hardly any of these original Honda twins out there to collect anymore. I'd like to see her go to someone who appreciates her potential as one of few remaining classic examples of that period. With minimal effort, she can be up and running for you even before you do a restoration to bring her back to a head-turning beauty! ...but if you must, consider her for the great value of parts that others will be looking for in their restoration project! Check out the going ebay prices of VT500 motors, trans, frames... and on and on. Quick scan of prices show may $400-$500 just for the motor! Frames maybe $300... you get the idea of this complete package - all original. You'll need to coordinate with me on pick-up date and location in Houston after payment of the deposit by PayPal.
