Vehicle Detail

This rare classic Chevrolet is being offered from a private collection. It is a beautifully restored California example of the famous Fleetline AeroSedan County Club Edition that underwent a complete body off restoration about 8 years ago. The current owner has kept this car in a climate controlled garage and driven it sparingly since it was acquired and it has competed and won many shows since its restoration. The paint is original Satin green (although the data plate indicates the top half was two-tone Marsh Brown metallic when new) and is in excellent condition with no cracking, shipping or swirls. The interior is correct striped fabric and is also like new. All trim, dash faux-wood, headliner and carpets are also in fantastic shape throughout. Everything works perfectly, including speedometer, gas gauge, heater, wipers, dash lights, horn, right down to the factory wind up clock. Modern turn signals have been added but otherwise, it is like the day it was built. The engine was upgraded to the 235 cubic inch power plant with an Offenhauser intake manifold that allows for twin carbs and increased horsepower. It also has a true dual exhaust manifold that gives the car a nice low rumble. The car runs and drives like new with everything working wonderfully and is still very detailed. The undercarriage is clean. There were no GM factory markings indicating which cars were delivered with the Country Club package. The wood trim and flat panels on this car are flawless and are clearly not original. As to whether the car was originally ordered as a Country Club model, there is no way of knowing. For reference, the January 2013 issue of Keith Martin's American Car Collector featured a write up about this model. The article profiled a 1948 Aerosedan Country Club that sold at Mecum’s Dallas, TX, auction on September 5-8, 2012 (Lot W29). That car had the reproduction wood trim and panels on it. This is a beautiful car that is fully sorted and needs nothing to show, drive, and enjoy.
