This rare Black on Red 1960 Volkswagen Type-1 “Vert” is being offered for sale out of a private collection in the Northeastern US. For most of the past 20+ years, this car has been part of the personal private collection of renowned Porsche restorer, Kevin Jeannette of Gunnar Racing in West Palm Beach, FL. After taking possession less than two years ago, the current owner drove the Beetle sparingly and maintained it to the highest standards while it was stored in a climate-controlled garage. This convertible beetle carries its older restoration well and would be considered a very high-grade driver/concours cosmetic quality. It retains the original motor and transaxle and is in excellent mechanical condition. The top and headliner are in excellent cosmetic and mechanical operating condition. There are no significant oil leaks and all electrical items are functional. All seats and door panels are full leather from the factory. Included under the boot is the factory spare wheel and tire and tool kit. This auction may end at any time if the vehicle is sold locally.
