Vehicle Detail
I am leaving the country and have to say goodbye to my little Suzuki. It's a great bike for escaping the city. Very forgiving for a new rider but able to put a serious grin on your face. Pulls nicely at low revs, corners well and low, and feels great at high revs. Very light clutch makes it easy in the city. Despite not being perfect I always seem to get a lot of envious compliments about it. I bought it on ebay about 7 years ago. It had been dropped a couple times and sold on to a dealer. The fairing was beyond repair on one side and I removed it, preferring the naked look. The right turn signal had to be secured with black tape due to cracks in the remaining fairing. The right mirror was broken, which I replaced, but mis-matched. I never got around to buying a new brake lever. In that time I have put about 7,000 miles on it, mostly up and down the Hudson and out to Long Island. I've ridden to the Adirondacks and back a few times. Needless to say this bike is priced much below what it's worth, but my family has to re-locate to Europe for a year, and there's no options for me to park it for that long in New York City. Figure on spending about $500-600 more for the new tires and carburetor cleaning/rebuild and you'll be set for the summer. Included is the Haynes Service and Repair Manual Check out the GS Twins forum for more info.
