Vehicle Detail
This is a 69 Scout 800A with a 266 V8 and automatic transmission. As you know this is one of the hardest to find models, with a V8 and all of the upgrades prior to the 800B which looked like a transition to the Scout II. It starts and drives good around the neighborhood, a farm, or hunting camp. Only the front brakes are connected, so its not highway worthy. The engine runs great and has new Holley carb, new distributor, new plugs, wires and coil. It is on a external gas tank right now, but the saddle tanks are in good condition after a good cleaning and new fill hoses. It has been lifted and has good 33x12.50 tires. According to the previous owner "The floors were replaced at some point, but not done right and rusted again." I purchased this truck to fix it up, but have realized that everyone was right about it getting in the way of quality family time. From what I can tell (never fixing a car before) the truck has some rust on the inner fenders in the front and back. Doors are in decent shape and will require some patching. All of the glass looks good. The tail gate is pretty bad as you can see in in the pictures (can purchase one for $200-400 on many of the scout sites). The top also needs some work. The frame looks good, just a lot of surface rust. If you have any questions or offers please ask.
