Vehicle Detail

I am going to go into as much detail as possible in describing this fine motorcycle, so please read and understand everything that is coming your way if you choose to be the high bidder. I have bought a lot of high-dollar bikes, cars and toys on the Internet and one of my pet-peeves is people who say "too much to list", yet want you to pay a premium for all of the things they're not telling you about. I am going to provide a complete list, with as much detail as I can remember with everything I have done to this bike in the roughly 9 years I have owned it. I am the second owner, but we can almost count out the first guy because all he did was put 300 miles (not a typo! 300 miles) on the bike and the only scratch in the paint, which is on the lower rear fender below the license plate. Since I have owned it the bike has always been stored in an insulated garage and has not seen rain in at least 7 years. I've always owned dual sports or adventure touring bikes which I ride during less desirable weather. Routine maintenance has been performed regularly either by me or by one of the better private bike shops in NE Ohio, Mickey's Rolling Thunder. As you will see in the pictures of the brake reservoir, the fluids are nice and clear meaning they haven't been in there since the bike was prepped by the dealer. Both tires on the bike are Metzler ME 880's and the front has about 1000 miles on it, the rear is about 600 miles. In my Experience the ME 880 is the best tire on the market for a big cruiser. There are a little over 11,000 miles on the bike, which for this engine is nothing. There are plenty of VTX 1800's out there with over 100,000 miles and are still running strong. This bike has been performance tuned on a DynoJet and is amazingly fast with torque that will pull your arms off. See performance details below. Most importantly, this bike has only been ridden by me since I have owned it. It has never been wrecked, dropped, slipped or otherwise hit the ground with anything other than the tires and the kick stand. It has never been raced and was owned by someone with 30 years of street bike experience. I have never had any major mechanical problems with this bike. It is always reliable, never stranded me and runs very strong. At about 8,000 miles the clutch started to slip a little which was common on these 1800's as Honda underestimated the torque this motor would put on the clutch. Many VTX1800's didn't make it that long. The clutch was professionally replaced with a high performance clutch that has a long track record or success in the VTX. Aside from the scratch mentioned above (and visible in the pictures), and part specific details mentioned below, this bike is in very good condition. There are no more flaws worth mentioning. It is not a show bike, it has been ridden and used but very well taken care of. If you want near perfection some of the chrome may need a little extra polishing and the paint has minor swirls and marks as any 11 year old bike will, but nothing a couple of hours and some elbow grease can't fix. Look at the pictures, there are plenty, nothing to hide here as this is a beautiful bike. I am paying $18 extra and running this as a 10 day auction which will cover two weekends. Not only does this give me maximum exposure since I am listing it with a $1 opening bid and no reserve, it allows plenty of time for anyone who wants to come see it in person before bidding. Not shown but I will include an OEM Service Manual with the purchase. Hard to keep track of everything I spent on this bike but it is probably close to $4,000 in upgrades. The seats alone were almost $1000... so here it goes Comfort and Appearance UpgradesUltimate Big Boy Seat, Passenger Seat & Back Rest, studded with monogrammingThe Big Boy seat drops you about 1" lower, and 1" further backConsidered by most to be the best seat on the market for the VTXNational Cycle Switch Blade WindshieldTool-less quick release, pops off in under 2 seconds yet never rattles or shiftsNational Cycle wind deflectorsB-Bags custom saddle bagsOne of a kind prototype bag set that never was brought to marketGenuine heavy Italian leatherQuick release, can be removed in about 20 secondsMinor crack in the back of one bags hard plate that was professionally repaired and reinforced, caused by poor packaging from shipperGenuine Honda Brand luggage rack and sissy barGenuine Honda Brand studded tank braRivco Chrome Plated billet aluminum passenger running boards with mounting bracketsRivco Chrome plated aluminum driver running boardsvery minor nick in one of them and very slight flaking of chrome near rubber insertRivco chrome brake pedal cover (matches boards)Chrome plated billet aluminum kickstand padsome flaking of the chromeHand forged wrought iron custom flag pole bracket with flag & poleEasy to remove if you want, mounted using backrest hardwareOversized Chrome Highway / crash barsI made the mistake of buying these used and the seller said they were mint condition, they weren'tThere is some road rash on them but it is barely visible with the leather covers and look greatChilhowee Leathers Studded Highway Bar CoversKuryakyn Chrome Engine Head Cover trimHard to see they are so blended in, but they are a great trim pieceShow Chrome rear brake master cylinder coverShow Chrome right & left front brake caliper coverChrome Billet Aluminum RAM Ball mount on handlebarsChrome plated Clutch and front brake reservoir coversBillet Aluminum Chrome Plated handlebar risersI forget the brandProvide about 1" of rise, and 1" setbackAmazing improvement for comfort on long rides, makes for a much more natural cruiser positionBillet Aluminum chrome plated cruise controlI forget who made this but they were a small American machine shop, paid over $200 for itNever ceases to draw attention from other bikersFriction lock for the throttle by clicking the button, tapping the front brake releases the lockIngenious design and looks amazing, not just your average friction clipSmall chrome plated spikes around tank bezelNot sharp enough or long enough to hurt anyone but look amazingI should have all of the OEM fasteners if you want to remove themCustom Skull KeyMost visible fasteners have been changed out to industrial grade stainlessShow Chrome Radiator Cover Performance UpgradesBaron's Big Air Billet Aluminum Chrome air intakeUses standard teardrop filters from K&N or other sourcesVTXexhaust.com custom exhaustOEM Exhaust that has been gutted and re-tooled for more performanceAmazing sound while maintaining OEM lookLoud enough to be heard before being seen, but not so loud as to tick off your neighbors when you leave for work in the morningThe more you get on them the louder they getDynoJet Power Commander"De-Snorkeled" to remove unnecessary OEM emissions equipment (Google it)MTC High Performance ClutchNewest versionAmazing lockup and performance improvement over weak stock clutchLess than 1500 miles on clutchProfesionally DynoJet Tuned by Mickey's Rolling Thunder, an authorized DynoJet shop I have most of the take off parts that I will offer for a very fair price to the winning bidder if interested, mix & match, pick and choose, it's up to the buyer. The rest will be sold as parts here on eBay at some point. Since I am getting out of riding for a while I also have a lot of rider accessories, men & women's, I will offer the winning bidder at very fair prices. Jackets, locks, helmets, gloves, wheel chock's, headphones, highway pegs, you name it I have it, much has never been used or only used a couple of times. After this is sold I have a loaded 2012 Yamaha Super Tenere' I will be listing as well. Why am I getting out of riding? I have had a street bike in my life since the day I turned 14 and didn't want a moped so my awesome dad bought me a 125cc Enduro.. hey, it was the 80's. At 43 my wife of 17 years and I adopted a baby girl who was born in October. She is number one in our lives and until she's grown I'm trading the bikes for a topless Jeep Wrangler so we can spend our spare time as a family and my open air hour long commute to work will be a little safer.. well, at least my wife won't worry as much :) Location We are easy to get to from just about anywhere in the Northeast part of the US. We are roughly half way between Youngstown and Akron on Rt 76, and 5 miles from either the Rt 534 or Rt 225 exit from 76. Zip code is 44429. We are almost a straight shot from Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago, New York, Philly, Indy, Columbus etc.. If you want to fly into Akron Airport I will pick you up, just bring a plate as I cannot issue 30 day tags. We could go to a license bureau to get one if you don't have other options. I will deliver within 100 miles for $3.50 a loaded mile. Full payment for the bike would need to be made prior to delivery. Warranty & Test rides There is no warranty, this is a private sale. There will be no test rides until cash & title has changed hands. You are welcome to come see it before the auction ends, just email me to make arrangements. Payment A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due via Paypal within 24 hours, balance is due within one week at time of pickup via Cash. If you prefer certified funds it need to be something we can take to the local bank and exchange for cash before you leave with the bike and title. Sorry, nothing personal. I have explained everything I can think of about this bike but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, I will respond as soon as possible. Thanks for looking and good luck!On May-31-14 at 08:57:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note, on pickup time, If you need more than a week after the auction ends I can hold the bike longer as long as the deposit is made and you contact me before the end of the auction to make arrangements.
