1956 Mercury Monterey Mercury sales were strong in the mid Fifties thanks to superb quality and styling, both of which are perfectly demonstrated in this beautiful 1956 Monterey 2-door. In mid-year 1956, Mercury came out with a very special engine option – the M260 option. It consisted of a 312ci V8 engine with solid lifters, special high performance camshaft and 2 4bbl carburetors backed by an automatic transmission. This amazing car has only 54k miles, believed to be actual. It has mint original interior, is totally rust free and has had only 1 repaint; All the chrome, rubbers and stainless are original.
