Vehicle Detail
For sale is this very nice Red 5 speed 1979 RX-7 w/ power windows and a rear seat which is pretty rare from what I understand. This was the first year of the RX-7 and it's rotary engine so it's very collectible. The car is very straight and drives great but needs a little body work and paint to be a $8-10k car. I traded another car for this one about a couple months ago because of this car's potential, but I don't know anything about rotary engines and I just have too many other projects. I did have the local Mazda dealership look over the car and they did say engine compression is good which I guess is important for these cars. The interior is very good shape overall and tires are good as well w/ original full size spare still in hatch. Things I've bought for it: New Dash Cover - Lays over the current dash which has a crack in it and looks like a new dash. I haven't glued it down yet though in case the next owner wants to fix the old dash. Replaced a lot of the interior plastic. New muffler - old one was SUPER loud. But this one is loud too and could probably use a different one. New leather on driver's seat. There was some serious wear so I had areas replaced with new foam underneath. New rubber mat in rear. Carpet is there and in good shape also. Needs: New front carpet - floor mats cover the wear on driver's but could use new carpet. I priced new carpet at around $150. Storage tray under stereo - I haven't been able to find one but haven't looked in a while... Rear interior cargo cover. Body - Previous owner started to fill in molding crevice (as shown in pics). You could either remove the filler and go with original look or finish what was started for a more sleek look. - There are a few areas with rust - all shown in pics. Any questions, just ask...
