2001 Golf cabrio Was used as a daily driver but my young dogs ruined the interior one day they were left waiting inside -it takes less than 10 minutes for a car to be ruined) seats are out of order, front and rear, (though seat airbags are OK), they ate a couple of plastics as well. But door panels are intact, dash also and no electric element has been touched. Good : Engine runs OK and has always been. Top is in very good condition (electric motor needs attention : fuse ? no time to watch at) CHECK ENGINE is NOT ON, no engine/powertrain/ECM defect the engine does not make noises, smokes nor stalls. this car has not been in an accident or been rebuilt, parts are genuine. Not so good : Power steering is leaking, probably a cracked hose Transmission needs fill-up and will work OK. ABS light is on rear left light came broken one morning (car ghas been sitting on the street for 3 weeks) I am selling it for parts, donor car, or as a project car. For the price of the powertrain you get the whole car I can arrange delivery, buyer pays freight. On May-26-14 at 15:46:40 PDT, seller added the following information: due to a number of questions, I will comment here : about the interior : seats have been peeled off from synthetic leather-like cloth in almost half the surface, but foam elements remain, as well as plastic linings. Seatbelts are OK, airbags are untouched. For a restoration project, setting new nice seat covers after cleansing should be OK Dashboard is Ok, plastic shell around steering (upper and lowwer halves) are missing but no lever or control is damaged radio is ok and cluster as well shifting gear handle is missing but unlock mechanism is OK and button still present and usable carpets are in need of cleaning but not really damaged ceiling is Ok, untouched. door panels are OK no element is missing or chewed. driver lock needs repairing, but handle is complete and functional. pics of interior upon request. about the gearbox : i did not investigate about the low fluid level, but on another car I had a similar case and it happened to be a rubber tubing getting old and cracking under wear and heat, dropping ATF fluid. The gearbox did not suffer overheating, the fluid remaining was of correct color and did not smell burnt. For The ones asking if they can drive there or here with this car, This car is listed FOR PARTS or TO RESTORE meaning no, you cannot simply get away driving it and ignoring it is TO RESTORE. Fix BEFORE you drive it ! I described it and placed pics, this golf needs repairs or is to be used as a donor car (a car you disassemble to get spares in order to fix another one) Once you have it repaired properly then yes, you will be able to drive it.
