Vehicle Detail

This car was originally bought in Southern California and spent the first three quarters of it's life there. I bought it in 2007 and drove it to it's new home in Colorado where it's had it's own dedicated garage space the entire time. It's been on trips to the east coast and all over the Southwest and has never let me down. It starts easy even in cold weather, runs strong, and shifts perfectly. In the seven years I've owned it I've put 28k miles on it and it climbs mountains easily, tracks straight down the highway, rides unbelievably smooth and one thing I haven't seen mentioned in any other listing for one of these wagons, it has the turning radius of a car half it's size. At 37ft that's a turning radius almost a foot shorter than a 2014 Honda Civic, which is to say it's a great city car as well as a cross country touring vehicle. And it's built like a tank. If you know these cars, this information is nothing new. If you don't know them, this car is built stouter than anything you can buy today. The recent Mercedes ads showing people sitting on the open doors to demostrate their strength holds true on these. Mercedes has the same door hinges on their WW2 era Unimogs. It's just an indication of the build quality throughout this car. The engine speaks for itself, in a word, bulletproof. Since I've owned it, the engine has been on a steady diet of AMSOIL full synthetic diesel oil. Regarding maintenance, I included a picture of the first page of the maintenance booklet showing where the car began it's journey and that it was maintained at Mercedes of Hollywood, CA. It also comes with the original Mercedes literature, first aid kit, emergency reflective triangle, and Mercedes tool kit, all shown in pictures. The body is in excellent shape with the exception of a small area of rust under the left rear bumper, the result of a plugged weep hole. The underside and frame are in excellent condition including all four jack points which are perfect. Rear wiper does not currently work and there's an anomaly with the cruise: When it is working, it's perfect but occasionally doesn't maintain accurate speed. MECHANICAL: New rear axles (both). New transmission filter/fluid New belts New tie rod assemblies, both sides New Steering damper New valve cover gasket New/used power steering box New upgraded glow plug relay that holds the plugs on longer. New glow plugs, all five New thermostat Rear Self Leveling Suspension (SLS): New SLS accumulators, both sides New SLS fluid Rear suspension fully adjusted and working perfectly Vacuum: Vacuum pump pulls vacuum at full spec level Door locks, transmission shift, engine shut-off, etc all function properly Rear vacuum reservoir holds vacuum New Tires: General Altimax , touring all-season 600AA UTQG rating Rated XL (extra load) 1653lb/tire Miscellaneous: Extremely rare factory installed European headlights Upgraded stereo with cd player Stock Becker stereo cassette included New hood liner
