Vehicle Detail

what i know about a 1962 olds starfire you could write on a postage stamp. so if you are reading this then i am sure you know way more than me about this kind of antique car. this old girl belongs to one of the guys that works for me and he has no computer so i am listing it on his behalf. i encourage anyone interested to come see the old girl and thoroughly check her out if at all possible. up for auction is this buck rogersmobile 1962 starfire sport coupe needing some TLC after sitting in good dry storage for 30 plus years. there is a clear transferable georgia registration for the car. georgia does not issue titles for cars this old. but a signed transferable registration is the same as a title in whatever state you live. she has a great big 394ci V8 in her which turns over by hand very nicely and does not hang up anywhere in the rotation cycle. my guy took the plugs out and showed them to me and all 8 looked very good, he put some oil in each bore before putting the plugs back in. in my opinion the engine will crank up and run, but getting her running again will be a nice job the new owner. and lets face it it will be a fun project to get her going again after so many years. she has some great options fitted such as factory A/C, power windows, even power vents! she also has power "trunk unlatch" and a "speed sentinel" whatever that is.all the glass is in very nice condition. the old girl does have some rust spots in a couple of places, namely the bottom of the right front fender and a small spot at the base of the rear roof pillar on the right side. the spot is about the size of a quarter. these obviously need to be repaired but its all very straight forward metal repair in my opinion. the floor pans are all very SOLID. the rocker panels are also solid, a few heavy surface rust spots and thats it. the trunk floor is super solid as you can see with all the liner / carpet out. from underneath the inner quarter panels and gas tank look really good, see close up picture. the gas tank looks really good without any major dents like so many have. the frame rails all look very good. the underside lip of trunk lid has a couple of perforated area`s a couple of inches long each. there are a couple of rust through spots on the inner fenders. the hood lip looks really good with just a little surface rust, see the pic`s. the rear bumper is toast but the back up lights and bumper irons are good. she is sitting on three steel wheels and one original? looking mag wheel. there are no hubcaps or spare wheel. the jack is there. the A/C is all original and complete, i am sure its still on R12. the old car still has the original handbook and protect-o-plate. some of the dashboard levers and so on will need to be lubed or maybe taken out and cleaned up as they are a bit stiff, all easy kind of stuff that just takes a bit of time and elbow grease. the dashboard is like something out of a rocket ship, chrome everywhere with all kinds of knobs and levers and the steering wheel is pure madness at about two feet deep! the reserve is set low, to where my guy is only losing his shirt and not his first born child, LOL. if you plan on coming to get the old girl she will need to be winched onto a trailer as she has not been on the road for decades. i can provide a shipping quote if you give me the town you live in and the zip code. if you have any questions, want to make an offer or need more pictures please email. or you can call me on 864 616 6860 up until 10 pm east coast time. shipping over sea`s is no problem at all and charleston port is only 4 hours east of me. i have already shipped antique cars to england, germany, sweden and australia and am an old hand at doing all the export paperwork. i am sure i am missing things here as i am not familiar with this kind of car so i encourage you to call or better yet stop by and see the car in person. any inspection is welcome and we can put her up on a lift for you so you can have a really good look underneath.FULL PAYMENT IN THREE DAYS. the ONLY methods of payment are CASH IN PERSON or a BANK WIRE TRANSFER. no other type of payment will be accepted and if you cannot comply with these simple terms then simply do not bid. thanks and good luck y`all.
