1978 Suzuki GS 1000 purchased from the original owner in 2009. Ridden less than 500 miles subsequently. Wasting away in my garage and this bike deserves someone who will ride it regularly and can appreciate the feeling of pent-up power you can't help but feel beneath you. The bike was regularly serviced and was originally purchased with a Windjammer faring and German Vetter hard saddle bags. Photos show the bike with and without the sissy bar and hard bags. The paint is still shiny and black with correct white, gold and red pinstripes. Everything is original on the bike with the exception of tires and other expendables. The four carbs purr like they were tuned yesterday, brakes, clutch, everything mechanical is in excellent condition. Only exception is a bad connection somewhere in the line for the right turn signal. Sometimes it does not flash. I don't know how old the tires are. If I were going to seriously ride or tour I would probably replace them for peace of mind. I had wanted this model since new in '78 when I couldn't afford it. When the bike came around I couldn't resist, but I found that I had used up most of my back by the time I bought it and spine surgery 3 months after the purchase ended the dream. Feeling guilty every time I look at it in my garage. Plenty big and comfortable for weekend jaunts for two. A sweet powerful ride.
