Up for auction is a 2005 VW 2-Door GLS Convertible Beetle. It belongs to my niece who always wanted a convertible Beetle, so when her Ford got rear ended by a bus and she received her insurance pay out, she thought that FINALLY she could have the car she's always wanted. Her boyfriend at the time thought he would be her heroe and take all her money and then some & found a Beetle on Craigslist.He drove down to L.A. at midnight where he met the guy who sold him this suppossed little gemstone...note to self, never buy a car in the middle of the night. Needless to say this car has been her nightmare filled with problems!! Starting with transmission issues of which she spent a couple thousand bucks to have it fixed, which now is no longer an issue, the trans shifts great!! The nightmare continued when she tried to register the car with the mountain of paperwork that was given to her boyfriend when he handed the seller all her money in the middle of the night! The check engine light is on as is the airbag light. It was checked out by the local VW dealer and they said it needs a catalytic converter, we also learned that it had an open campagin for the airbag sensors, which we thought would fix the airbag light. To our surprise we learned that the car had been hit in the right front and caused frame damage right where the airbag sensor mounts making it impossible for the dealer to install the updated sensors. The dealer refused to do the work unless they also did the frame work. To make a long story short, my niece is so scared of the car and no longer has the money to continue this nightmare. She has been at a loss of how to deal with it, so we are now offering it up as a parts vehicle for parts or repair with a BILL OF SALE ONLY.She has over $6,000 invested in this car and we know it has thousands of dollars of good usable parts to be used elsewhere.
