*** Buyer Backed Out So Beetle Is Re-listed My wife and I are we believe the third owners of this beautiful little beetle. This was a surprise for her 21st birthday 9 years ago, and it will be a very sad day for both of us to see her go. Our little bug was originally from southern California, where the first owners had her in the garage from 1965 to 2000. I purchased it from it's second owner who had the beetle shipped to the Hamptons in New York. It spent nearly all of its time in a garage there aside from about 1,000 Miles in the 5 years he owned it cruising around the little beach town. We purchased it in 2005 with just 88,000 Original miles and have taken her up to a little over 92,000. She has always been in the garage in our care as well. Our bug is in excellent driver quality, but not a show car. It has original paint that is weak in some areas but still shows extremely nice. It runs and drives extremely well. When I first bought the beetle i put new white wall radials that still look great, and really help how the car drives and handles. Just before our wedding this past october, I had my local mechanic install a new generator, new carburetor, and other components so that she starts every time, and runs like a top. There are some small superficial rust areas around her, but no rust through, and nothing that needs attention right now. Again, this is not a show car, but it is a more than excellent driver, gets compliments and photos everywhere she goes. Most people think that is has been restored, and they are blown away when I tell them it is original. Everything works, power top, power windows.... just kidding, its a 65! But everything does work, lights, signals, gauges, etc. I have more photos of the floors, trunk, etc if needed, ebay just kind of hurts you with fees for too many photos. We are buying our first house, and although it is a really cool place, like most old houses it needs a lot of work. With kids on the way this summer, unfortunately we are in need of new flooring, and kitchens more so than a cool vintage toy. So away she must go. Because this bug is our baby, we want to make sure the next owner is ready to take care of her. Please make sure you have garage space for her, and are willing to call us FIRST if you ever decide to sell her in the future.
