Vehicle Detail
0 0 1 492 2809 Fairfax Realty 23 6 3295 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Up For Auction is this Beautiful 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, two door hardtop. This car is a 283 V8 with a two speed automatic transmission. This car is finished in the most sought after color available in 1957, the stunning turquoise & white. This car is an older restoration from the early 90’s that is still in immaculate condition. The paint and body work are in excellent condition with the paint appearing as new, crisp and deep. All body panels are flat and true without waves in the body work. Both sides, fenders, doors and quarter panels are straight and true without distortion or imperfections. The doors, trunk and hood line up well, the fender to door and door to quarter gaps are like original. The chrome on the front bumper and rear bumper are like new. The stainless steel trim on the exterior of the car is immaculate without dents or dings with a deep polished luster. The car has factory installed optional rocker panels moldings and fender guards. The grill and hood gun sights and door handles and all exterior chrome, stainless, pot metal, ornaments all show as new. The car has an authentic reproduction of the factory original Continental kit. This option truly gives the car a presence and makes a statement, possibly one of the most glamorous dress up accessories that were available in the late 50s and early 60’s. The trunk interior looks great with a second spare tire and jack with instructions. The interior of the car was replaced 25 years ago but shows some wear and tear. The driver seat has a small seam split and the steering wheel has some cracks. The carpet and interior door panels show some wear but overall the interior shows very well with new weather strips and rubber trim. The radio is an item sold by Danchuk whereby it fits the original opening but has a different appearance and controls a CD mounted in the trunk. This car also has an aftermarket air conditioning unit which maintains a factory interior look but has an obvious later model look under the hood. It is concealed in the interior however evident under the hood. The factory air condition units were very rare to start with as less than 15 percent of cars left the factory with air condition so this setup is one of the only alternatives as used oem parts are non existent. The car also has a red light finder, which is a rare factory option. This option was to assist the driver to see the red light as the first car in line for the light had an obstructed view. Under the hood the car has a 283 V8, two speed automatic transmission with original power steering and power brakes. Everything under the hood functions well. The engine starts on the first try without smoke and runs and drives smoothly, transmission shifts well. The car was recently treated to a complete brake job with new brake shoes, bearings, wheel cylinders, brake hoses and drums. This car was owned by a dear friend of mine, who was a prominent car collector. It was left to me in a will when he passed away eight years ago. As a Mercedes Benz technician and Auto Parts Store Owner since 1979, I personally attest to the superior condition of this great car and the providence of the vehicle for the ten years prior to my ownership. It has always been garage kept away from all sunlight. Tom Jackson
