Vehicle Detail
This is a 1992 Ford F350 with the 7.3L diesel engine with 4X4 and it's a crew cab. It took me a very long time to find a truck that had all these options prior to me buying it. When I found the truck it was located in southern TX, I flew down and drove it all the way home. Here in MI is is very hard to find a truck that isn't eaten away with rust and this one is in really great shape. I have driven it daily throughout the past 3 years and it has never left me stranded anywhere. We are moving and I can't get all my stuff to the other side of the country so this has to go, and I'm really bummed by having to sell it. Here are the good points to the truck:3/0 battery cables that were put in about a year ago2 new batteries that were put in about 2 months agoElectric fuel pump put in a mont ago (Dura Lift about $250 worth of new parts)Transfer case rebuilt in FebruaryNew carrier bearing 2 months agoTires are in fair shapeEngine has run greatGlow plugs are in good shapeInstalled manual glow plug buttonTransmission works properlyRear seat and cab is in really good shapeProper coolant has been run in this truck (I use fleet guard)Good block heaterIts been very reliable (I am a firefighter and use it to make runs from home)Here are the bad points of the truck:284+K miles, the truck still runs great thoughPower steering hoses leak and pump or gear box aren't working appropriately (I will try to fix prior to moving out of town)Tranny coolant lines are leaking (not much but I would replace them the next time I flushed the coolant)The headlights suck (replaced the originals with some cheap clear lens ones and they are not that good)There is a tear in the drivers side seatGlow plug relay (I'm guessing this is the issue) works when it wantsThere are two clearance lights that the lens are broken onThe paint is horrible (the old paints just weren't formulated very well) You can see in the pictures that there isn't much clear coatThere is a dent in the hood from what appears that someone tried to shut the hood while the hinge was locked in the open positionThe front bumper has a dent and is also rusted through on one cornerThe interior light works sometimes when you open the door but not at other timesThe door locks don't work for all doorsThere appears to be some bondo in the drivers doorThere is rust in the bottom corners of both fendersThe mirror switch for auto mirrors is not working (this just started in the past couple weeks)Someone cut a hole in the bed for what I'm guessing was going to be a stack exhaustThe dash has many cracksThe vent slats are all non functionalThe door panels all are in need of either being replaced or worked onDrivers side seat belt doesn't fully retractThe rear gas tank I have never used because the previous owner told me that it didn't work, and I have never looked into itDents and scratchesI'm sure I have missed both some good points and some bad points so ask about anything that you might have questions about. If you're asking yourself why would you be interested in this truck, I will tell you why I bought it and why I hate seeing it go. I think this is one of the best F body trucks of all time. I needed an option to haul my wife and four kids in the winter and this truck could hold everyone and being 4X4 it could make it through the snow. The 7.3 naturally aspired is slow but it just keeps going. This truck has been rock solid for me, I don't know if anyone had done any work to the engine prior to me owning it but seems like it has many miles left in it. All the guys at the fire department love this truck and many of them want to buy it but they are firefighters and don't have any money. There is very little to be done to keep this truck functional. The body and interior could use some work but it hasn't bothered me. I feel safe in this truck.Due to the age of the truck I can't promise you that it will run forever or offer any type of warranty. Because I am moving across the country the truck will need to be picked up no later than May 3rd unless we have worked out some type of arrangement prior to the end of the auction. The hitch isn't included in the auction but there is a diamond plate tool box that does go with the truck.
