Vehicle Detail
1969 American Motors Corporation Javelin SST-TransAm Tribute Car This Javelin SST up for auction is the perfect classic muscle car to be a spectacle at the local antique car shows this summer. This is one cool car to drive around and catch everyone's eye!! This is a true Red White and Blue All American Classic Muscle Car!! I'm fairly certain they only really made about a hundred of the real thing. I doubt that too many are left in existence. These 60's and 70's muscle cars have incredible investment potential, and have been referred to as rolling bank accounts. I've never owned a Javelin prior to this one, but I've always felt this is one of the finest looking muscle cars from that special era. According to the previous owner that the mileage is original, and this Javelin does have the original numbers matching 290 cubic inch engine that was freshly rebuilt less than 1,000 miles ago. The title is clean and clear from the State of Oklahoma, and has always been a southern car. This Javelin has only been in the State of Wisconsin the past several years of its 45 year existence, and always stored inside. I showed an article from the November issue of Playboy in 1969 to let everyone see how cool and rare these cars really are. I doubt there is too much of a chance the next owner will see one of these around their town. The engine was nicely detailed and just tuned up with a new distributor cap, new rotor, new points, new condenser, new E3 Diamond Fire spark plugs, new spark plug wires, new thermostat, fresh oil change, and oil filter with a new MSD coil that was just added to prepare this car for the auction. This original engine has an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake manifold with a brand new Holley 4-barrel carburetor, so naturally I had to add the new Edelbrock chrome air cleaner with the new air filter on top. The original washer fluid bag is still in place on the passenger side under the hood. This Javelin starts right up and shifts very smooth with a brand new transmission cooler! The head lights, bright lights, tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, reverse lights, emergency flashers, and even the license plate light all work as they should. There was a brand new $1,000 exhaust system installed last month that includes 2 1/2" inch exhaust pipes starting with brand new Hedman Headers in the front to the sweet chrome exhaust tips welded to the rear. To say this TransAm look-a-like sounds wicked would be an understatement! The Safe Command brakes are brand new in the front and the rear with a new master cylinder. The front high back bucket seats were both reupholstered, so they should be nice and comfortable for many years to come. The front and the rear floor pans are all very nice and solid with brand new black carpeting. There is a brand new set of four black carpeted floor mats to keep the new carpet nice. The stereo is a Pioneer aftermarket detachable faceplate AM/FM CD player with MP3 capability. Pioneer speakers are mounted on the new package tray under the rear window. There was a brand new black headliner just installed. The entire interior is in relatively good condition as shown in the pictures. This Cool Javelin rides on a like new expensive set of four P205/70R14 inch Firestone Indy Firehawk 500 steel belted raised white lettered radial tires mounted on Magnum 500 wheels with chrome lug nuts, all four bolt-on center caps, and all four beauty trim rings. There is a 12 bolt rear-end, but I am unsure of the gear ratio. The very nice original trunk floor was coated with similar to the factory Black and Aqua spatter spray, so the trunk should stay in nice condition for many years to come. There is a new rubber trunk gasket, and inside of the trunk is a new trunk mat that carries a full size spare with an original restored jack and crow bar. This way if there is ever a mishap with a quick tire change you can be back on the road in minutes. The frame has most likely stayed this nice, since it was always a Southwestern car until it came to Wisconsin. Therefore it has never seen snow or salt. Another reason could also be the undercarriage was factory undercoated in 1969. The frame, floors, and gas tank were all detailed with low gloss black enamel. In my opinion it would be very hard to find another 45 year old car as solid as this selling at no reserve. The original lower rocker cover moldings on the sides are both still in very good condition. Both doors have chrome side view mirrors for that sporty look. The chrome is all original to the best of my knowledge, and I would consider it to be good drivers quality condition or better. The bumpers and rocker chrome were removed when the paint work was done. I just re-adjusted the front bumper so it fits and looks nice. An exorbitant amount of time, money, and effort went into making this Javelin into a TransAm. These older classics that have survived for over 45 years are becoming harder and harder to find, especially a unique looking classic in this color combination. The Hemming's Motor News Price Guide that anyone can research on-line currently has the 1969 AMC Javelin listed at $32,995 in high condition, $23,568 in average condition, and $15,495 in the lowest condition. The lowest condition value would be considered as the price for a car needing a restoration. I'm not saying that this is a Barrett-Jackson museum piece by any stretch of the imagination, but I would tend to believe this Javelin looks in much better than average condition. I think the dual snorkel hood with the Mark Donohue spoiler really sets this Javelin apart from the average looking muscle car. I believe everywhere this car is driven it will be the spectacle of the neighborhood. I feel confident when I say that whatever this classic Javelin SST sells for in this no reserve auction will be a win/win investment. This AMC is an investment that I believe will continue to rise as these cars have shown to consistently escalate in value. Here is a prime opportunity to acquire your dream car at a nominal price. I try to list everything I can think of when I write a description, so every potential bidder can make the most informed decision prior to placing their bid. If you feel I may have left anything out please ask as many questions as you like. I pride myself in answering every question in explicit detail with the utmost honesty.
