evan77 Store 1988 Mercur XR4TI - Ultra Low Miles & All Original For sale is a very original XR4TI. Although not perfect in every regard, I have to imagine that it is one of the best preserved examples out there. As you can see from the pictures, the vehicle was last registered in 1992. The original owner purchased the locally in Pittsburgh, drove it a few thousand miles in the next few years obviously not during the winter and parked it. The title has been transferred to the owner's son who has asked me to sell it for him...so anyway the title is clear and in hand. Mileage shows 4822 and I have no reason to believe, based upon the family and the vehicle condition, that this is accurate. When we pulled the vehicle from the garage the rear wheels were seized and the gas in the fuel tank had turned into varnish. We replaced the wheel cylinders, battery, fuel pump & strainer, plugs, oil and then also had the fuel tank restored by a local shop. The fuel lever was soaked for about a week and now works fine. Following this work, the engine fired immediately and is running strong w/o misfires or hesitation. The owner kept the original window sticker ($20667.00) from Benson Lincoln Mercury in Pittsburgh and also has the drivers log book, Mercur keychain and even the dealer display poster. it appears that everything is absolutely original, including tires, oil filter, etc. however despite being from Pittsburgh there is no evidence of rust (other than minor surface oxidation on certain chassis components...and even, due presumably to being stored in a heated garage, all of the rubber appears very servicable. Items such as the axle boots and suspension bushings all appear to be in very good condition. The interior also shows little to no wear, including the pedal pads, seat bolsters, etc. with a cursory check, all items appear to work properly, including power windows, radio, wipers, etc. The exterior paint does show some blemishes, most notably the crease on the front quarter panel which I've shown in the picture...this was presumably caused by something coming into contact in the garage. Other than this, there are various other small scratches and paint imperfections such as the rear passenger fascia corner and a "wave" in the driver side of the rear spoiler. I would imagine a good detail could take care of the majority of these issues but certainly wanted to note that the paint is not perfect. Since starting the vehicle, I have driven it a half dozen times without issue. I'm not sure I would suggest taking this vehicle as-is on a cross country voyage before a more thorough investigation, but it appears to be functioning well at this time. He sold and serviced cars, trucks and garden tractors in the downtown area of Greensburg, known as the "point". After many years and changes, my father, William G. Mohler moved the business to Route 30, and started selling Buicks and later Renaults. From the early 1970s I worked at the Buick dealership with my father. In 1987, I decided to expand our operation and purchased the building and land at our current location. The dealership that I acquired was called Sendell Motors. The name stayed, and I moved the Buick franchise to the new location. Since that time, the business has continued to change and expand many times, adding Oldsmobile in 1990, VW in 1993 and most recently Mitsubishi in 2001. The main dealership was significantly remodeled in 2001, adding a dedicated VW showroom, doubling the service capacity and making significant improvements to the collision center. Also, in 2006 an additional 3 acres was purchased for new and used vehicle storage and a new showroom for Mitsubishi was completed. With Sendell Motors, and the Mohler Motor Company prior, 4 generations of the Mohler family have been in the business of selling and servicing vehicles in Greensburg for more than 70 years.
