Vehicle Detail
I am offering for sale my 1968 Fiat Dino Coupe. Over all, this car is in very nice condition. But,there are some issues that will have to be corrected before it can be driven. The first issue is wiring.Several wires, under and around the steering column, have been cut.It was like that when I bought it.But,it was never mentioned in the Ebay listing.Another issue is the interior. It had been redone,at some point, using good quality materials but, very sloppy craftsmanship. The car did run and drive when I got it but, over the past 2 1/2 years I've owned it,the engine has become rougher.I believe it is need of a serious tune up and the carbs need a professional rebuilding.Body and paint wise,it looks great. This is the original color but,I believe it has had a repaint at some point. The odometer shows 60429 KM. I have removed several of the interior parts for reconditioning. They are all here. The car also comes with an extensive list of spare parts.Various front and rear suspension parts,a nearly complete interior,a pair of doors, rear deck lid,and rear window with defroster wires. There is also a nearly complete wiring harness with fuse boxes.Dozens of chrome trim pieces too. There are many smaller parts, too numerous to mention or list.I also have the original jack,a few tools, and original tools pouches. There are about 3 or 4 books that will go with the car. When I was removing the overhead visor panel,I discovered a document that put this car in Greece in 1975.It was a parking permit for a hospital. I don't want to go into a long history of the Fiat Dino's.If you're familiar with these great cars, you know the history. They are a tribute to Enzo Ferrari's,I will not be denied, attitude. These cars were only produced for about 7 years. They only came into being so the V6 Dino engine could be raced in F2.I don't know of very many cars built only to satisfy FIA regulations. As time goes by,these cars will become rarer and more valuable.I have listed this car in the past.I have also had some mindless comments too.If you can go buy a real Ferrari for about the same $$$$,do it.It will cost more to insure and maintain. And,it will be a lot more common.I know that the Fiat Dino Spyders,in excellent condition, are selling for 6 figures. As they become more expensive and out of reach for the average collector, the value, and prices,of the Coupes will increase as well.If I don't reach my reserve,I will most likely store it until I have the $$$ to do a proper restoration. Also,I ask that you not contact me about buying used parts. All of the spare parts go with the car.The buyer can choose to take all,or part,of the parts. If there are any questions, feel free to ask.I have nothing to hide. Many of the issues with the car were never revealed when I bought this car,on Ebay, from a seller in SLC,Utah.I think his name was Bart.Good bidding. At the close of this auction,if there is a winning bidder,a $1000,non-refundable,deposit will be required withing 24 hours. The balance will be due within 7 days from the end of the auction.Transportation will be the buyers responsibility.I will be more than happy to assist in that. Cheers.... On Apr-25-14 at 13:49:27 PDT, seller added the following information: 4/25/14 I was hoping to upload more pictures from the underside of the car.The computer I use for photos has, apparently, crashed. To everyone I promised the pictures to,I apologize totally.I will continue to work on that problem.I did do a complete visual inspection under the car.I did find rust starting to form on the lower panel of the right fender.Right now,it's not bad at all.The paint is beginning to bubble and rust is present. It covers an area about 2'' X 2''.Other than that, the rest of the car is rust free.I also took a small magnet and went all around the rocker panels and fenders. No bondo or other could products present. No rust.I hope this helps those who requested this info. And,again,I apologize for the picture fiasco......CheersOn Apr-25-14 at 22:13:39 PDT, seller added the following information: I was finally able to upload the pictures of the underside of the car.Hope they give a better idea of what everything looks like.It all seems good. Finally,it should be noted, this car is being sold "as is" "where is".There are no warrantees or guarantees implied or otherwise.
