Vehicle Detail
This is really a unique 1951 Ford, I got the car on a trade in Florida two years ago and last year I had it shipped to Indiana where it is now. While we had the car in Florida we drove it in a founders day parade in our small town and it absolutely stole the show. There were much more expensive and nicer cars but this car got more attention than any of them. The following is what I was told about the car: It was built in California in the early 1990's and was named after a Canadian rock band called Lunatic Fringe, it went to Florida a few years later. The paint is custom and very slick but has some bubbles, scratches and nicks because it was done so long ago but still looks very presentable . Purple that fades to maroon,The stripes and flames are hand painted with the exception of the stripes on the hood scoops. Has outside sun visor,Rear door handles are shaved and doors open with inside handles like back in the day. Trunk lid operated from remote inside the car. The battery has been relocated to the trunk. Has 1950 Ford tail lights. Has a Chevrolet engine which appears to be a 350,automatic transmission with a floor shift. Has power steering and power brakes,Four wheel disc brakes. Headers, and looks like stainless steel exhaust,Nove front clip, aluminum radiator, electric fan,Edelbrock carburetor, The air conditioner uses a GM compressor and it blows cold, The engine must have some sort of non-stock cam as the idle is a little rough. Interior has Mustandgseats, console, dash mounted gauges, tilt steering column with wood steering wheel. The stereo is currently not working but I am pretty sure that everything else is working inside. It has a pair of three rib fender skirts that go with the car,I have never put them on. I only drove the car in the parade and about 10 miles here in Indiana but it seems to drive pretty good.It has been stored inside since being in Indiana.I will be getting it out Monday.Pictures were taken last fall. I have clear open Florida title that matches the VIN on the car.Florida title lists miles as exempt. This is a pretty wild car and just not something that I want to keep. The guy that traded it to me as part payment on a 1956 Ford convertible was asking $13,500 for the car which seems too high to me. I am going to sell the car to the highest bidder which might be a big mistake on my part.Just bid what you are willing to pay and at the end of the auction send $500 nonrefundable deposit and the balance by wire transfer of cash within seven days. I will accept a cashiers check or personal check but will not release the car until the funds have cleared((probably 10-12 days). If you need longer than seven days to pick up or make shipping arrangements that is fine as long as it is paid for in full within seven days. High bidder owns the car,no excueses. If you have any questions please ask them long before the auction ends.If you have any reservations or do not have the funds in place please don't bid. On Apr-20-14 at 01:41:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Zero feedback bidders please contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. Call me at 317-753-3658 if you would like to talk about the car.. ThanksOn Apr-20-14 at 12:08:18 PDT, seller added the following information: I got the car out this afternoon. It started easily, Had two low tires which I aired up with a small 12v compressor, the left rear may have a leak .I will try to have it checked out and repaired if necessary tomorrow. I drove it through the neighborhood and it seems to be ok. I may have to make a trip to Florida for a real estate closing on April 29,leave next Sunday April 27 and be gone until the next Saturday. Hope this won't inconvenience anyone as this auction ends on April 26.I didn't know there was a possibility of this happening until today. It has already been postponed 3 times so it still may not happen at this time. I will keep you posted. ThanksOn Apr-21-14 at 07:42:26 PDT, seller added the following information: All of the guages are Sport-Comp. Guages on top of dash are oil, temp, volt and fuel, The tachometer and speedometer are the same brand. All seem to be working. The odometer shows 6800 miles which is possibly the miles since build.I really have no way of knowing. I am just adding little bits of info. as I think of them.On Apr-22-14 at 11:31:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Like I said in the listing I got the car in trade and I am pretty sure that the guy I got it from also got it in a trade. I just found a picture of the car from a while back and it was priced at $15,500 then, not sure when it was taken . It really is an attention getting vehicle. Although the car is modified it is no problem to obtain collector car insurance from Hagerty.
