Up for auction is this 1968 Pontiac GTO convertible - super rare - very restorable. The car was parked in 1976 due to a blown engine. It was purchased several years ago by a friend of mine who installed a rebuilt 1971 Pontiac 350 with a rebuilt Turbo 350 trans. The car starts, runs & drives - brakes are decent. Engine sounds good but needs clean fuel and a tune up. I do not have the correct original 400. The front seats are '69 GTO - no back seat. Front floors are pretty solid but do have some scaley rust - rear floors need replaced - area under back seat is super solid - trunk floor is super solid. Body: LF fender is solid but had a crease that was puttied and primed; Hood is original to the car but has a slight buckle on the inner brace from stiff hood hinges, has a putty area on the driver side edge; RF fender is straight & solid; Pass door is straight & solid; Quartere skins both have a little rust starting around wheel opening but are repairable without full quarters, also has spots in the rear corners above bumper; trunk lid is from a Judge and is pretty much junk; Dr door is solid but has a minor dent. Convertible top frame is complete and not real rusty - folds & latches - has electric pump & cylinders. Frame has no rust - looks very good underneath. Rear end is a 10 bolt Posi - should be original to the car. Front end has had new shocks & some misc bushings. New economy exhaust with glasspacks. I have the front endura bumper shell with bumper brackets but the rubber part was melted in a grass fire - no other damage was done. Have most of the hideaway headlight brackets, inner grille pieces - missing the vacuum cannisters & headlight covers. Car is being sold AS IS. Clear KS title provided upon full payment.
