Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 2003 Honda RC51 (RVT1000r) SP-2. These are pretty rare bikes but you probably already know that. I am an avid Motorcycle collector and I came across the beauty in 2007 with less than 4k miles on it. I actually purchased this off another collector who cared for this bike meticulously as did I. Never raced, never down. I pretty much took this out on weekends, and has NEVER, EVER seen rain. The exhaust headers have zero rust, which proves this bike was only driven in nice weather, never in rain. This bike is in pretty much mint condition. A solid 9 out of 10, and I have additional pictures to prove it. When I purchased this bike it was 100% stock, since that time I have added a Power Commander, Two Brothers Exhaust and K&N Air Filters and a few other light mods. The Power Commander is set for these pipes and the K&N's. I have the original exhaust which I will gladly give to the new owner. This bike most definetly turns heads with the V-twin roar. It truly sounds badass. Some other mod’s include a custom undertail, carbon fiber fins for the side radiators (increases cooling) and carbon fiber inlays on the OD readout display. As many of you know these bikes were geared for top end speed and were geared very high. Which sucked for cruising and driving in town. I upped the gearing with bigger sprockets and new chain when I purchased the bike. And in all actuality, because of this, the bike has less miles (b/c of gearing) that shows on the OD. It has had routine (yearly) maintenance and always stored in my climate control garage with gas treatment and on a battery tender. Battery is brand new. Oil was changed every year, regardless of how little I may have rode it during certain years. This bike was one of my many pride and joy bikes, but unfortunately the time has come to sell it. Do I need to sell it, no. But I want to thin out my motorcycle collection for new hobbies. This bike has never been abused, put on one wheel, or laid down. Take a look at the spikes I put on the windscreen and handle bars, like I said I primarily rode this bike as a head turner and took it to a handful of bike shows. Adding these spikes and racing/stunting it would have been a death wish. These bikes are ridiculously fast with a ton of low end torgue and so much fun to ride! Like I said I have to thin out my collection of my bikes. Thus far I have sold my 2005 Ducati 99 (Spring 2013), 2007 CBR 1000 (Winter 2012) and the only bike I have left is my Harley. It was either the Harley or the RC that was last to go and after taking much of the winter to decide, I have realized that I am not getting any younger and the Superbike days have to come to an end. This RC is truly in near mint condition and only has 7,400K miles on the clock. The only flaws are a few rock chips on the swing arm which can be touched up with black touch up paint. There is a scratch on one of the two brothers logo's on one of the cans for parking it to close to a concrete wall. Barely noticeable but I disclose everything to my buyers. The tank is dent free and scratch free, to keep it this way I added a second look bra that matches the paint scheme of the bike. There have been no engine mod’s done like I know others do to these bikes. All the fairings are in perfect condition. I have everything this bike came with out of the factory, including rear seat which I have never used bc I would never let a rider on the back of this bike for the fear that they (aka she) would scratch it, or melt her shoes on the cans. I have the owners manual and service manual. Like I said, the person I bought this bike from was a much bigger motorcycle collector than I am and they kept this bike 100% stock with everything from the factory. My intent of this bike was always to keep it stock, but to add the necessary touches to Mod it just right without affecting the value. I also changed out all the brake lines with steel braided Galfer brake lines and pads, which increased the stopping value tremendously. You cannot event catch a finger nail on the rotors, which goes to show how little this bike was driven. It should be mentioned that the rims on this RC are stock (Honda - Enkei) and as a Honda dealership confirmed these were included on only 6 2003 RC51’s.......another reason, I purchased this bike. The chrome with yellow spokes makes this bike really stand out Trailering it to many bike shows in PA I have always received accolades from other RC owners on the rims. The front tire has less than 1k miles on it. The back tire has some life on it but should be changed out. I have the Dunlop Sportmax tires on and personally love these tires. The back tire, again from cruising is worn in the middle, but the sides have full tread. Yes, I know I really didn’t get the full use of what this Superbike was built for but like I said I used it as a head turning cruiser with its loud and deep roar. I actually, loved this bike more than my Ducati which is why I sold the Ducati first. Both were equally fast, but the RC just had that head turning tone. Both were torque monsters off the line. The RC was actually known as the Ducati Killer back in the day. Be certain, that this is one of the best kept, cared for and loved RC’s that are out there. This bike is NOT for beginners. I also will not entertain tire kickers or joy riders that play games. I am requesting $500 from the winning bidder within 48hrs. I will not ship this bike. I will not travel. I will not sell this to anyone under 18 unless you have a parent with you. Again, not a beginner bike but money talks. That being said, if you don’t have a valid motorcycle license don’t bid. I have pit stands for this bike (which will be included for the buy it now price of the bike). I would be happy to make a video with the bike on the stands and run through all the gears, upon request. The clutch on this bike is 100%, thanks to the gearing mod I have done. I've included a review on this bike below from a motorcycle magazine article.
