1967 GMC "HandiVan short bed "shorty" van. This van is very solid, inside and out and underneath! The worst place is the top, right rear corner, the rain gutter is rusted off and there's a small gap between roof and body. I acquired the van basically as pictured. The windshield is out, as a new steel patch panel was welded in at the top. Dura glass has been done, but needs body worked and finished out. I do have the windshield, in nice condition. I will list what I know as new: Built, 350 Chevy sb. Quadrajet. Don't know the specifics of what was done exactly, but it is strong and runs great! I have a file folder full of receipts for this thing! I put on a new alternator and external regulator. Has new headers. Mini super torque starter. New Interstate battery. New dual exhausts, all the way to the rear. New aluminum radiator with trans cooler installed. New gas tank. New brakes..hoses, wheel cylinders, shoes and drums. May need a kingpin re-done on one side. I have the new king pin kit for both. There is also some play in the drag link, but steers great! New shocks, still in the boxes. New glove box. I have new seats, boat seats, I was going to put in. There are several boxes and totes inside the van full of misc. extra parts off of other vans! Vintage '70's Cragars are good drivers, but not perfect. A couple I touched up some. Brand new lug nuts and washers. Tires have good tread, but are old and showing dry rot, 205/70/14 front, 245/60/14 rear. Engine and trans as far as I can tell have had virtually no miles since put in, other than my driving around the shop. Body has various, minor dings and dents, with very little total rust through If you're a body person, this van's for you as that is basically what's left, and not a major project at that. Would depend on how far a person would want to take it. My idea was for a nostalgic, vintage '60's,'70's hot rod. I have enough other projects and would like to see this get the TLC it deserves!
